Joe hasn't had a great season at Stoke but coming home, maybe he can take on Leon's mantle, be a genuine pivot in midfield. Maybe he can get the pace of the passing up and have us going forward more quickly. Maybe the "buzz" of coming home can carry him through maybe 2 more seasons at a good level where he can help other players come through. My problem is, I guess, I don't see there being any middle ground, he'll either be a big success or a massive flop. There is also the question, is he a player that Martin really wants? If he is then great but, if this is another idea from the people above the team manager (like the 2 USA players Cooper had foisted on him) then it's a bad idea. | | | |
