sadly it is, Anne & Edward got it right by not giving their kids the prince & princess titles that they were entitled to do, Andrew & Harry did... says something coupling them 2 together
George V declared who could and couldn't have titles, around the end of WWI, grandchildren of a monarch can, great-grandchildren can't, Williams were given them because he is in-line to the throne, which is what put Markles nose out of joint

Lets get rid of all titles, save a shedful of money, and become citizens rather than subjects.

We could try being like a modern normal country.
I would let those who have titles, to keep them but they can no longer be hereditary or new ones created. Dukes, Lords, Viscounts, Earls, the lot of them
Just keep titles for those directly in-line to the throne... that would do away with the upper class... well their titles anyways
