Didn't realise that SCMP turnover was calculated differently in leagues 1 and 2 in that direct injection of cash by owners, not loans, is counted as part of turnover.

Yes, Adam Stanfield's story was a particularly tragic one in that he died from colorectal cancer at age 31 while still a player with Exeter City. He had previously played as a goal-scoring forward for Yeovil and Hereford. In an unusual twist, Jay Stanfield was loaned to Exeter City by Fulham, and had a successful season playing in front of the stand named after his father. He signed off with a hat trick against Morecombe. He was loaned to Birmingham last season and did pretty well with 13 goals.
