Southampton 200m fine is doing a lot of heavy lifting there - they didn't play the semi or the final so no way of assuming that. |

The point being of course that no one else got caught red handed like this and therefore a precedent should be set for it never to be done again. A suspended sentence of this manner hardly suggests that this is something that should never happen again.
Really poor penalty in my opinion. |

We should look at a commemorative 'never mind the bollarks" shirt in honour of Glen Matlock . At least Glen is a regular at games..

became a non-competitive game after the red card but.....
In all seriousness, has Tuchel been an improvement on Southgate?
I'm struggling to understand any parts of the overall strategy that have got better - apart from the inevitable inclusion of a few players due to injuries etc...
It's still slow, ponderous build ups, over possession football, predictable sideways passing.
And Tuchel's inability to accept any type of criticism really irks with me - everything is the players fault, never his.
Nothing attractive about watching these England games at present... |

Oh man... the 9.30 Club. Love that space so much.....
Also have a long term relationship with the old space which was iconic....
Great place to watch The Pistols - you won't be disappointed.

Absolute choker because he's looked sharp, fit and lean over the last set of games.
Maybe we will see others step up Madsen/Vale - or an opportunity for Alemayehu to start playing a role... |

Totally agree.
Look, it feels terrible to be critical after a win - which we would have probably given away last season - but Saito should have been subbed, the 4 changes lost our balance and we sat far too deep in the second half. I would have understood those changes had we scored the third, but as you say, we were hanging on at the end.
I'm hoping he was saving specific players for the game saturday, which will probably be our biggest challenge this season, but we need to kill games off and keep on the front foot.
We did however look very good for long periods of the game.... Roll on Saturday... |

Can honestly say that in 60 years of watching football, I've can't remember ever seeing a goalkeeper quite like him. He adds another dimension - I mean, pep obviously brought this ball playing keeper stuff to the UK, but this is something else completely - he moves us forward quicker, picks out precise long balls and gives the back four complete confidence to bring him into play. Oh, and on top of this he can actually use his hands too....
totally unique .... |

Preston Clouds was indeed qi a fun place to visit and do gigs....
The one closest to Burnley I remember was Colne Franks Place.... Frank's daughters were very friendly with visiting bands as I remember...... |

Maybe this is the reason we got his brother on loan - they could be sharing property and keeping each other company.... |

Pretty much agree on most of this.
Burrell looked a bit out of sorts on the right.
Thought Vale had a poor game - especially his dead balls and shooting.
Varane and Alfie looked decent when they came on - I think Alfie is unpredictable both to the opposition and himself at times...
We deserved more from the game, we were the better side and there were plenty of positives.
If we can keep this lot free of injuries and have the additions of Lamptey and Kamara, there is the basis of a really good side.... |
