Saints Make The First Signing Of The Season
at 13:16:53

Great signing. I lived in Lyon in 1997/8 (I know, a long time ago) but still see about 4 or 5 of their games every season and get updates on the team's progress from season ticket holders out there. As soon as they heard of the signing they phoned me and basicaly said what I had already thought - great player with great ability and great potential but certainly all ready for the Premier League. A few injuries but nothing overly worrying is what they told me. Just what Saints needed and perhaps this will mean a new centre back parter for Dejan?

What Now Constitutes Premier Success For Saints ?
at 12:37:24

Only 2nd time putting my thoughts on here. Must say it is a very reasoned article. In my humble opinion success for the first season back would be avoiding the dreaded drop, so17th would be fine by me. But if you are hovering around there all season it only takes nerves, injuries or suspensions and 17th could become 18th, 19th or 20th. So, although I would be happy with 17th the best way of achieving htis (or a higher finish) is, as NIck says, to aim that slightly higher without it being unachievable. 12th is obtainable although it will be hard but then two successive promotions was hard and I dare say most of us thought that was unachievable but perhaps those within the club (primarily NC and NA) didn't?

Hooiveld Signs Permanently But How ?
at 09:36:31

I think st_bangkok may be right in theory but whether it is the case here who knows, and frankly, as mentioned by nearly all and sundrie, who cares. Cortese seems to do things in his own way and gets things done and done properly so there can't be question marks over whether we have in fact signed him. If he was on loan or signed earlier, again, who cares but it seems that we had the option to sign him if on loan or to send him back to Celtic if signed. As for the fee, in my humble opinion (and everyone has their own) Cortese would not pay over the odds and Celtic clearly didn't want him and he has done a good job here (especially with Fonte not playing to his best at times) so I am sure we paid a fair price and whatever that may have been it could be a very good signing indeed.

Forgotten Heroes - Hassan Kachloul
at 10:57:54

Think it was Tahar who crocked Dyer. As for Kachloul; maybe not a hero compared to others that have worn the red and white, but for a short period of time he was up there, as evidenced for that 90 minutes at Palace's ground.
