Charity Match Vs Swansea City legends
at 12:41 10 Nov 2019

Afternoon gentlemen, first of all,I apologise as this post is very last minute, but I’m taking part in a charity match this afternoon at Llandarcy Sports Academy against a team of Swansea City legends. Kick off is at 4pm, free parking and entry (as far as I’m aware) and all they ask is for a small donation. It’s in aid of the poppy appeal charity which as most will know does it’s bit in helping those who serve/served in all branches of the military. So get your football fix this afternoon, come down, support the boys involved, do your bit for a very good charity and enjoy what I’m sure will be a fantastic game of football, hope to see some of you there!

Not sure how true this is, but I was told that we hold the record for the heaviest defeat for any “English” club in any European competition?

I’ve had much pleasure reading the match threads on various Leeds forums, especially when we scored and the total meltdown that followed it. This was part of a comment posted that shows just how much that loss hurt them. Hilarious 😂

* Swansea cheating. Perhaps I'm being a bit harsh on the ref, as it certainly looked like Swansea had spent a lot of time on the training pitch focussing on diving and any other form of cheating they could think of. It wasn't even just one culprit - there were quite a few at it, which makes me suspect that it was prearranged. The consensus was that they were akin to Subbuteo figures that blew over in the slightest wind. Their #22, whoever he is, was an absolute disgrace. Spent more time on his arse feigning injury before sprinting off when the inevitable foul was given. The most laughable was in the first half. Alioski, all 6 stone of him, ran past their hulking #5. I could see no contact, but the #5 went down as though Alioski had driven a sword through his heart. Now the funny thing is that he was stationary, and Alioski was screaming past him. If there was the slightest contact, the laws of physics would have Alioski flying through the air, or flattened. Neither happened. He continued on his way. Yet the ref made the most improbable decision. This happened time & time again. Then there were the substitutions. Remember this new rule about leaving the pitch by the shortest route? Well Leeds did, and I would hope that Swansea & the ref did. But Swansea pointedly chose the slowest routes every time, as part of their time-wasting campaign. Did the ref object? Nope - he even escorted one of their players from the penalty box to the halfway line. Probably arranging their shower activities.

* Timewasting. Right from the start, Swansea were playing for time. I was absolutely stunned. Here we had a team renowned for playing good football, & sharing top spot with us. You'd surely expect them to get stuck in. But no, every opportunity to waste time was employed. Goalie changing sides for kicks, going down like they've been shot & staying there overly long for the smallest infraction, rolling about clutching various bits of their bodies before sprinting away clearly pain & injury free, and standing over our (occasional) free kicks, even in our half, in order to prevent us taking a swift free kick

Atmosphere yesterday

Haven’t seen a thread on it, but a special mention to the fans yesterday. We didn’t stop singing from start to finish. I was sat about 10 seats away from the black netting and was having decent banter with the citeh fans....until we went 2-0 up and a few coins started flying over. They, on the other hand were f*cking rubbish and hardly heard them until they equalised.

Thought he done well for them tonight when called upon, made a fantastic save in the bottom corner in the second half and has had many good performances this season from what I've seen, may well be worth a look for next season if we're getting rid of Nordfeldt/Mulder.

Playing Vs Watching the Swans
at 13:22 26 Nov 2018

So, I've played football myself and watched the swans growing up, due to kick off times, it was possible. As I started to get older, I didnt so much lose interest in playing but much preferred watching the swans home and away every weekend, and by the time I got to senior football it was carry on playing or watch the swans....so I chose the swans. Fast forward to now, I'm 24, I've seen us come through the divisions, from that day at Bury, to winning at Wembley (twice) watching us in Europe against teams like Napoli and Valencia and the pretty rapid demise since. For the last year or so, I've found myself growing more and more frustrated with the way things have gone down at the club and the way it's being run. I've recently taken up playing again and I've enjoyed myself more in those couple of games I've played than I have had watching any swans games for the past 3-4 years. So, the question is, if given the chance (especially for the oldies of the forum) to play football again or watching the swans, which would you choose?

Do you think he'll be at the game tomorrow? I seem to remember he disappeared for a while when hostility was shown toward him and the rest of the board at certain points last season. Personally, I'd be as far away from Swansea as humanly possible, But, he is the DOF and is the (or one of) the reasons we're in the state that we find ourselves.

Atmosphere yesterday
at 20:37 5 Aug 2018

I'm fairly young (compared to most of the old miserable twits you get on here) but have had the privilege of going to many away games over the past 15 years or so from Gigg lane to the Etihad, but yesterday was up there with or if not THE best away day I've ever had. The atmosphere was incredible, didn't stop singing from start to finish, even after they scored we were out singing them. The away end erupted for both our goals, I don't even think we celebrated that much in the play off final. A great result but that atmosphere was something else. Just hope the fans can keep up that level of support and the players can keep picking up results and we could well be in for a very exciting season.

So...Who replaces Fabs?

Do we stick with Nordfeldt and Mulder and have Zabret or Bender as 3rd choice, or do we go for someone like Danny Ward who seems to be many peoples first choice? Surely if we signed him then Nordfeldt would be offski as I can't see him wanting to play second fiddle in the championship?
