Reply | The Swans intend to impress at Millwall this evening. Plus Monga latest

Let's be fair, he's only 17. He played Championship football last season, impressed in a struggling side, and then had Man City and Arsenal chasing him. It's only natural that he'd rate himself.
But now he's landed at a club pushing at the top end of the table, a long way from his support network, and he's just a small part of a strong squad - much better than Leicester's last season. If he's not making the bench, it's probably because others have shown more in training.
It reminds me of how Frank Lampard spoke on his own loan at Swansea. Maybe the biggest thing this loan will teach the young man isn't football - it's resilience, patience and professionalism.
The article isn't painting Monga as a diva or with an attitude problem. It sounds more like a young man facing a big adjustment, miles from his friends and family. A challenge he hopefully rises to. Whether he does is largely up to him. He is still just a kid though miles from home - I wish him well.
I had a lot of growing up to do when I was 17 too - didn't we all? |
