The Jenkins got us here lovers
at 00:08 3 Jan 2017

Spot on post, covered everything. We played football that we were envied for, fast one touch, movement off of the ball, players wanting to be involved. That was then, It took Monk a season and bit to confuse, dismantle and wipe out the football we were becoming famed for. Poor vision after Laudrup by HJ and the board has helped speed the process. I just hope by some miracle, even if it's in the Championship, we can get back to The Swansea way of playing, it will need a clear out and a while to rebuild.

He is still our best wideman, makes it hard when there is no one to up front and he spends most of his time tracking back to support an inept defence

IMO The vision that Rogers and his predecessors had of how Swansea should play was taken away slowly by new managers, with Monk taking 1 1/2 seasons to put a stop to the high tempo passing game and leaving everyone confused as to what their roles were, add HJ and his inability or want to spend money but happy to make it and hey presto we are heading towards the Championship at a fast rate of knots, It's only the older players that can remember the Swansea way, and it's hard to to do it when there is only a few of them even capable of that sort of football. Play it out from the back!!!! With our defence its pick it out of the net.... The answer, new manager, new chairman, new board, new players and our old way of playing

Is that time up for Garry?

I fear it is time for GM to step aside, a squad of good players from the last two years can't all of become average without some other influence, we saw the introduction of the diamond formation then Dyer, Routledge both became average. Now the rest of the team have gone the same way. I think it started last season. I felt last season despite finishing 8th, we had the rub of the green in a number of key matches that really we might of lost. Has GM lost the dressing room? Is the squad confused as to what style of play he wants? This goes beyond a squad of talented players becoming the run of the mill. It's time to go back to the Swansea way of play, where they play as a team, every player knows what they are doing and other teams fear them. Sorry GM, you have tried to impose your style, but it has failed, move aside and let's get a manager who can pull the players together, stop in squad fighting and then try to avoid the drop before its to late. Just my opinion

How many starts does he need, there are only 38 PL a season and I still don't think that would be enough!!!!

Well said, the diamond formation is ok but as proved only works until teams work out to play against it ((usually after the first half, let's be honest we have been lucky with results recently) The wingers still have it, it's Monk who needs to go back to the Swansea way of playing, our luck can't last for ever!!!!!

I don't disagree with you, but there must be a striker out there even if it is in the Championship that is better than Gomis and would jump at the chance to play Premiership, it's the job of the scouts and management to find this player

Gomis needs to go, he's not good for his team mates or for Swansea City he is overrated and I would think overpaid, he looks clueless in front of goal despite being provided quality balls. I also wonder what has happened to the Swansea way of passing, no one looks comfortable on the ball, the defence look clueless, we now have no recognised striker left ( I'm not including Gomis as I have seen better strikers in lower leagues) has Monk changed the way Swansea play? Gone is the crisp passing and build up play, the wide men hug the touchline now and seem afraid to take players on like they did under Martinez, Rogers and possibly Laudrup. I think Swansea (monk) need to go back to what Swansea are famed for, possession with fast accurate passing and wide men that can terrorise opposition defences with a solid striker waiting that has ability to score goals (Gomis will never have that) oh well, rant over..... And it's only my opinion....
