Glamorgan 2018 cricket thread
at 21:51 30 May 2018

Someone needs to start accepting responsibility for this shambles of a set up. Goes beyond not being good enough. Let’s start with a professional approach. Seeing this lot on balconies grinning with their shades on while at the same time having a hammering makes my blood boil. I’m used to Glamorgan losing, but please, let’s show morose when we lose and a bit of dignity. Croft is fortunate he’s not a football team manager.

FA Cup Quarter Finals
at 09:07 13 Mar 2018

The only game I missed in the 1963-64 run was the one against Barrow. My Dad had a Ford Anglia which we travelled in with an uncle. No motorways in those days! I have recollections of arriving in the Potteries and the striking smell of the local bituminous coal burning to heat the houses. I also remember Stan Mathews playing in one of the games - the Vetch replay I think. Ronnie Moran’s penalty miss at Anfield is clear in my mind as well as being upset at the loss at Villa Park in a game that should have been postponed.

That semi final team - apart from Noel Dwyer, Eddie Thomas and Jimmy McLaughlin were all local boys.

No, I shall not be at the Spurs game and for what it’s worth, have not been inside The Liberty Stadium since The Betrayal. Neither will I until the venture capitalists have gone, along with those that have let us diwn so badly.

Former Swans Shareholder Rob Davies Says Club Is Heading For Oblivion
at 16:43 1 Jan 2018

I follow a couple of motorhoming forums and where there are debates, they are usually handled sensibly. If things do get a bit heated, threads are frozen and, if necessary, members banned.

Unfortunately, there are a few people on PS that bring out the worst in each other. Threads are lost amongst the abuse, bad langauge and insults, losing focus on the original point of debate. These poeple - and there are two or three usually involved - are behaving quite disgracefully and need to take a good look at themselves. They spoil it for everyone else, but I suppose the saving grace for me is that I do not have to know them personally.

I would hope that whoever controls this forum has the desire to sort it out for the benefit of those who appreciate civilised debate.

Optimism the order of the day

‘Get us out of this mess?’ So, what happens if they get lucky and stave off relegation? Do you really think that lessons will be learnt and everything will be hunkydory next season?

Optimism the order of the day
at 15:24 28 Dec 2017

One has to be very naive to think any change of manager will sort out the mess we are in. Pal, I have a right to feel negative these days! Too many of our own fans are partly responsible for the debacle that has been the last few years through keeping quiet and happy with the crumbs that are being fed. It’s like shifting the deckchairs on the Titanic. I couldn’t care less about ‘getting behind the manager’, nor the players. It’s the CLUB I want back.

I’m in for £50 and happy to help. The Club needs to be cleansed from top to bottom. Transfer windows, managers and Premiership football are way down my list of priorities fir now.

Clement Gone
at 21:38 20 Dec 2017

I may be wrong, but reading some of tonight’s responses to Clement’s sacking, I get the feeling that for some, the main problem is over. Let us all pause and think what is really behind the demise of our club. With, at last, a head of steam building up to channel fans’ anger about the way the club is being managed, it is essential that this is not deflected in any way as a result of a change in managers. The problem remains and will remain until the stables are cleaned and disonfected. Please let us not be sidetracked.

Vote of no confidence thread.

I did not renew my Trust membership, because, quite franky, I had had enough of Uxbridge’s efforts to bounce us all into voting for the share sale. As far as i’m concerned he needs to go as well.

A kindly, but nevertheless firm piece of advice to Kerouac. Pleae do not post your views using such language as you have in the Title of this particular post. There are laws of blasphemy in this country that could lead you and the Planet Swans site into quite some difficulty. Please moderate your language and be aware that some ( myself included ) find your choice of words offensive.

Moderators and site owners also need to be aware of their positions. Thank you.

From what i've received in this morning's post, surely this is not the way for any members' committee to hold an election.

If that's what our Committee wants, then carry on, although I fear that history will not deal too kindly with you.

Hello the Trust
at 15:41 19 Jul 2017

I have followed the activities of the Trust and its relationship with the football club for many years and I have no wish to enter into any debates or arguments with anyone, but for what its worth, here are my views-

I blame ALL current and past Trust committee members for being partly responsible for the mess we are now in. We have been let down by them as well as the Jenkins gang.
Some current members of the Committee, through their regular contributions to this Forum appear to have a high opinion of themselves, bordering on arrogance.
Most statements by candidates are poorly presented.
Personally, I have only used two of my votes - the stable needs clearing out.
There is something not quite right about the taxation situation of the Trust.
Lastly, I shall not be renewing my membership of the Trust for the coming year.

Seriously, is this guy a proper journalist? "Credit Huw Jenkins for being decisive"! Apparently, he is Head of Sport at the Western Mail.
