Interesting offer by the club
at 10:47 25 Nov 2014

There are far more 'stay at home' students across the UK due to the high cost of fees plus accommodation. A fair number of people also stay on in the area they study. I would guess somewhere between 30-50% of graduates will remain in the catchment area. Certainly I know of several Swansea graduates who are still in South Wales. I did my first degree in London and stayed there for a couple of years afterwards

Goodbye to the Dr
at 12:51 21 Nov 2014

Although I'm not a prolific poster I have been on this and the old site for a good while.

As of today I will no longer post as DrWig as the name is now redundant.

I will be back later today with a new name once my embargo is lifted.

cheers

Gylfi and past free kick takers / scorers

John Cornforth put a few crackers away too.

Gylfi against WIgan that day was unplayable. One of the greatest performances in a Swans shirt I have seen.

The Robinson goal also made me smile. Trundle and Robinson-the Messi and Ronaldo of the lower leagues!

Not a fan of JB. The small batch bourbon they had in Aldi last week (Jeffersons) is very good indeed and a good price, Better than MaKers Mark and about a tenner less. Only has a couple left in Neston last week though.

It is Ebola-related. The woman on the left as we looked at it was a Nigerian doctor who is considered to have acted to control the Nigerian outbreak at the cost of her life. Was in the Guardian a few days ago. Don't know the other sorry.

Toxocara canis is the biggest risk from dog faeces. Dog urine which can carry Leptospira which can also be nasty.

How long does it take places to switch from Cardiff to Swansea?
at 16:56 15 Oct 2014

Manchester-so much to answer for.

In the UK all the Northern cities are large but on a worldwide scale they are not. Having been to Sao Paulo, Belo Horizonte, Bangkok and Addis Ababa they are tiddlers.

Puncture resistant gloves (there is no such thing as puncture proof) are about 30 quid a pair. Hardly at the top of a student shopping list. I know as I bought some for work last week.

Trevor Hicks must be one of the most dignified people in the UK. Losing both children at the same time, followed by the way the families were treated yet able to control anger whilst speaking about Hillsborough. I remember an interview he did with Nicky Campbell on Radio 5 a few years ago leaving me in tears.

They did- about 2 mins in-in the midst of a lot of ongoing aggro.

It was about 10 minutes left when Ante saw red followed by a lot of celebration, not least from Robbie James

Yes

Poor quality (Huw Johns commentating for a start). If I remember all the goals were in the first 12 minutes.

Both players and tactics were a revelation at that point. We really could and perhaps should have won the league.

My choice would be

Fabianski (on current form)
Rangel -Ante- Ash Williams - Jimmy Hadžiabdić
Leon
Gylfi- Robbie

Curtis - Latchford - Nathan Dyer

Subs: Vorm, Caulker, Ben Davies, Leighton James, Bony, Michu, Routs

Fantastic player. A legend even before hacking down that Cardiff player in the Welsh Cup Final. Still here the Ante chant in my head now.

Roy Paul of course. A friend of my mum's family. There have been a few others who have played League Football but not reached the dizzy heights

This may be true, but by any standards 2 of the greatest ever Swansea players (Curt and Jack Fowler) were both Rhondda boys.
