I just thought he looked more comfortable at centreback last night.
It’s all opinion of course; compared with the likes of Tasker and Moss I don’t really feel he offers much going forward from fullback although I also agree with the offside incident last night.
He also managed to get out jumped in the air to long diagonal balls last Saturday.
Anyway, as you say, he’s way down the pecking order. |

The game itself didn’t really teach us anything that we didn’t already know.
We’re really short of defensive cover.
Sherring is much better at centre back than on the flanks.
Tobi is a neat and tidy footballer but his first instinct when playing leftback is to pass sideways or backwards. I’m not sure how he’d cope if he was up against a Hayes type winger who ran straight at him.
Hannant is not a fullback. Francis is a really composed footballer who can really knit a team together.
Poor old Mani is really struggling. Feel sorry for him. If a more effective replacement could be sourced I wouldn’t be surprised to see him sold in the January window. NL teams looking for a boost must be interested if he was available eg Carlisle. He must be on a biggish wage as well.
For the first half hour we looked pretty composed on the ball at the back; breakdowns only occurred when we tried to move the ball forward.
Once they’d scored those two quick goals and the early subs were made it was effectively game over.
Sorry for perhaps stating the obvious with the above.
There are always pluses.
Beckwith and Hayes got some minutes on the clock. The former especially must only have played the equivalent of two or three games all year.
Bradley impressed. He’s a natural footballer. Wouldn’t be surprised to see him go out on loan if and when the troops are all back in the New Year. The other lads showed some nice touches but we’re by and large outmuscled. Huddersfield played some youngsters but theirs were 19 and a couple of years older and so better developed physically. |

So many good pie makers in the town in that era.
Hilton’s, Nicholsons, Smiths of Castleton and one at the bottom of Sparth Bottoms Road whose name escapes me among others. |

I also wondered if Hayes may have been offside but, having seen footage from more or less straight in line from the Main Stand, there’s a Swindon player playing him on.
Difficult to tell but it might even have been Ball. |

Be interesting to see who starts tomorrow especially in midfield where IW may have to start two from three of Gilmour, Adeeko and Francis which isn’t something that he probably thinks is ideal. |

Credit to IW for battling through it.
He must have been totally down after that Gillingham game. |

Worth extending until the end of the season if you ask me and needs doing now.
There will be plenty of clubs after him when the transfer window opens if he continues in this vein.
He got an assist for Hayes’s goal but could anyone from the Pearl Street advise if it might have been going in anyway?
Difficult to judge from the Sandy. |

Flint was giving their keeper some stick about his weight immediately before Middleton’s first half free kick.
Totally mischievous but who’s going to argue with him? |

Amidst everything else Ramming made a crucial save midway through the first half when they broke away.
Looked far better after the subs so credit IW for that.
Not quite sure from 100 yards how Brown missed that one!
Tasker was outstanding. |

Swindon have a record of two draws and five defeats from their last seven games.
One goal scored and 15 conceded. |

FGR and Dale Vince may have been a trifle premature.
The local paper in Peterborough has a photo of Karl Robinson above quotes from Barry Fry to the effect that interviews are ongoing and an announcement not expected until next Monday. |

Plus the fact that we’ve already paid fees for Jenkins, Hayes and Middleton. |

Presumably Salford would be looking to recover some of the largish fee that they paid Exeter for Bird.
And, no disrespect to the player, scoring chances will be there for him in abundance the way that Boreham Wood are playing at the moment. |
