Thoughts on Tammy?
at 18:51 12 Aug 2017

Good to see another option instead of or with Llorente.
Too often we've had similar strikers that don't add anything when they come on when we need something else

Fernandez, Carroll and Ayew.

Hold up play from Ayew was very encouraging.

Gives us so much more options going forward and eases pressure on our defence.

Mawson = CLASS
at 22:13 15 Apr 2017

So 1 season is long enough to give him before shipping to another club that will develop him?

He needs decent coaching and players to learn from.

If swans can't offer that then maybe it's best he does go. But that would be a real shame as I feel he is a player that will be valuable to us. Especially in the championship.

Lot of people slating him but he is obviously a long term player for us. Will get better and prove invaluable.

Made a mistake, owned up, move on.

1 mistake won't relegate a team. Relegation is caused by bigger, long term issues.

All to familiar really.

Would love to have a captain that pulls them all in after the equaliser and DEMANDS that they continue to play they way they did for the last 20mins. We worked so hard for the goal.

Why oh why do we revert back to playing so deep and allowing the pressure? How would Man City react if they saw we weren't fazed and continue to press them??

On a positive note, good 2nd half performance and everything is looking a bit better than a few weeks ago. Uppa swans

Ground expansion???
at 10:50 21 Jan 2017

How was the money being raised to fund the expansion?

As that's well and truly on the back burner I suppose the money can be used for strengthening the side. Although that's where Carroll, olssen and narsingh fees probably came from!!

Only joking, but seriously let's ask him. 😕

There was never any investment, and nor will there ever be any.

As a previous poster asked. What do we do now?

Well, it's a bit late and too far gone for any real attempt to escape the drop unless the team starts to pick up points.
The 3 x £5m player spend is a last real roll of the dice without too much risk. There's no way the new owners will spend big and risk next seasons attempt at promotion.

Realistically Huw and the yanks aren't going anywhere. I think if Huw stays, which he will then all the involvement he should have is commercial issues.
The manager needs to be given complete control over transfers and when he has identified potential players he needs to place the list on Huws desk and leave Huw do his business.

I'm resigned to the fact we are going down, have been for weeks. Limit the expenditure and have a fire sale in the summer. The manager to implement his scouting team and signings and develop the youth to fill the gaps.

Agree with the OP and a warning to all potential investors who think they can sign on the dotted line and sit back and everything will work out. Doesn't work like that and unfortunately a healthy/honest club who have worked so hard to climb the ladder have had it all destroyed in such a short time.

Let's just hope we can pull off the great escape and rebuild in the premier. But a long shot now!!

Finally something to build on?
at 20:47 10 Nov 2013

Although extremely disappointing again today, I feel there were more positives to cone out of the game than negatives. Initially I was frustrated and angry but after reflecting I am a bit more upbeat.

Positives:
Bony and Poz did well, dare I say I would like to see us without Michu for another week?
Dyer changed the game when he came on
We saw a bit more of the passing game we are used to

And the biggest positive/lesson:

If we keep it simple and get guys in the wide areas to play a simple ball (in air or on the ground) into the box, we have a multimillion pound striker who will score goals, although it's better to have a few players in there.

Negatives:
Keeping focus until final whistle
We seemed to slump back into our lazy style when we pulled level.
De-Guzman went missing for large parts again

Would like us to push forward from here. As long as the players that performed well today keep the momentum ie dyer, bony.... As they have been guilty of being inconsistent from game to game hence why we keep changing our line-ups.

Definitely 2 points dropped. People will say we would take a draw at 2-0 down but remember we were 3-2 up with 30 seconds to go!!

Up the swans!

After the league cup we had a good win at Newcastle and we all thought we would push on from there.
Unfortunately the season fizzled out to a slightly disappointing end with poor performances (understandably). Our focus during the last few weeks of the season turned to preparation for this season.
Our main objective in addition to finishing the season with a few decent performances/results was to sign amongst a few other positions:

A quality striker or 2 - the reason being Michu's best position is clearly behind the striker (at the time it was Moore, Lita or Schecter).

We bought Bony and were quite excited- reminded me of a Jason Scotland which was worrying but then thought 'if he gets the goals and holds the ball up. Perfect'

Scotland was very frustrating but scored for fun. I didn't realise Bony has scored 7 in 11 starts. Pretty impressive. Although - like Scotland- there is something missing.
The jury is still out but there is one thing that is guaranteed and that is for £14mill he will be given all the time to improve.

Shelvey- well, what can I say. When we announced the signing there was mixed reviews. After the malmo game we thought we might just have a great signing. Personally, I would enquire whether we can swap him with Joey Allen 😜

I just thought that ML approached this game differently, which was reflected on his set-up.

I suppose what I am trying to say is, tonight has brought the worries and concerns to a head, which is that :

we are better with a striker in front of Michu - do we have a good enough one?

We are better when Shelvey is not in the side as we can build our play like we used to.

Are the signings we made during the summer adding to out squad-

Amat - rash at times but settling in well
Canas - will do a job for us when needed
Vasquez - not good enough - for now
Pozuelo - adds something to our squad but not effective in situations like tonight where he may try too hard.
Bony - as I said jury still out but needs to start almost all games.
Shelvey - ❌

I suppose that's rant over?
