Do we not all want the same thing?
at 15:47 20 Feb 2026

When my kids are going batshit crazy, I say "they're like zebedee on acid". And that's the one from the magic roundabout, not the football factory.

I'm sure we all want the same thing for QPR but how we get there is extremely varied (choice of coach, starting XI, subs, tactics etc.) hence the discussions before, during and after each game and people (and I'm meaning everyone), understandably, can be very firm in their views hence differences of opinions.

Thing is, none of us have any control over any of it so sometimes it goes a bit OTT IMO. It all becomes about ones opinion being right (and again, I'm talking about everyone) and we just have a magic roundabout going around and around and around.....

Arsenal: Digging Up.
at 20:01 17 Feb 2026

What is the point…. I mean really, what?

In the last 20 years at Highbury they won the League title 5 times, the FA Cup 4 times, the League Cup twice and the UEFA Cup winners cup.

In the 20 years they’ve been at the Emirates they have won the FA Cup four times. That is the sum total of their majors honours.

Not sure how a few extra seats will turn them into the domestic and European powerhouse they want to be.
Hundred of millions of pounds for an extra 10k-20k seats which, once extra match day overheads factored in, will yield an extra 30% income increase (at a guess).
Most of those seats will be for tourists anyway. There will be a token amount for those on the ST waiting list but that will be done begrudgingly.

Sounds good, doesn’t it. Except that once done and you are about to sign a new coveted player, the agent will go “you want him? price has gone up 30%”. Same for any contract renewals.

Then you have a squad of players all costing 30% more than 2026.

So, you just stand still. As the lady alluded to about Highbury, the stadium then hits another ceiling (“financial anchor”) and once that’s maxed out, then what.

Ok, some may argue you now have the cream of the crop of players. Well, what happens when you’re not winning silverware (sic) season after season that kind of outlay demands.
At best you have a very disgruntled fan base (more than they are already) and at worst what happens if attendance actually drops, you’re in the schit now that you weren’t in before at 60k capacity.

Games gone, innit.

Just don't shave until QPR win 5 games on the trot (not done since the early 00's) and you can become an irrelevant tw@t on social media.

QPR being sued
at 17:14 12 Feb 2026

I've been on jury service once many years ago and 5 days of going through the case, witnesses (who really weren't able to offer anything of use), defence & prosecution going through their sides of the situation and it really all boiled down to the defendant's word against the accused's word, how can you prove who is right and who is wrong?

You can't so we had to give a verdict of not guilty. Not because the accused didn't do it but because it could not be proved they did and to this day, either side's story is equally plausible. It wasn't clear, even without proof, who was correct.

EFL clubs to vote on expanding Championship playoffs to six clubs
at 12:14 11 Feb 2026

So when this is implemented, then what? What's the next great idea that they'll come up with? (because they will)

How far down the table can they go before it become even more ridiculous? At this rate Sheff Weds might have a chance of promotion.

THOMAS FRANK SACKED...
at 12:04 11 Feb 2026

This is not a case of hindsight but unfortunately he was always going to fail a lot sooner than normal. A combination of Spurs being, well, Spurs and what has already been said about players/fans inflated ego's but I also think certain Managers are suited to bigger clubs and other managers are suited to not so bigger clubs. IMO Frank falls into the latter.

However, when a club like Spurs shows interest I think any Manager owes it to themselves to give it a go if offered. Plus, as always, the financial package will outweigh what he was on at Brentford and he won't go hungry now he's sacked (not that he would have anyway had he stayed at Brentford).

How are they going to work out how 6 teams can get into a final of 2 teams?

Yet again, Execs pi$$ing around with stuff 'cos they can't leave things alone and need to keep themselves in a job.

Maybe he decided that this was his only chance to be able to play for his boyhood team and that surpassed any other criteria.
He may have gone to Man City and won a few trophies and then regretted never playing for Arsenal regardless of trophy acquisition.

What if the score was even? What would/could the consequences be for not allowing what most likely would have been a winning goal and two extra points?

What if City missed out on the title by 1-2 points?

This is the problem, too many if's, but's and maybe's and the whole point of getting VAR in was to cut a lot of that out but seems to have got worse.

at 16:42 9 Feb 2026

My sons youth game got called off yesterday. Third one now meaning what with Christmas, they've played 2 games in 2 months.

Reason for the postponements is they want to protect the pitches. Oh plurleeez, kids love this schit......

I think over the years so much has been done to each stand that every time something is done (new signs, electrics etc) it's compromising the structure so they now have to be careful what they do.

Anyways, most clubs have those grass UV light thingy's now.

"Is VAR's the problem or is it how it is being used?"

IMO, it's how it's being used. A lot of people still think VAR is automated (like goal-line technology). It's not, it's a bunch of Ladbrokes Lads, bantz, bantz, mate, mate so it's still down to human interpretation much like a ref & lino's except that they don't have a split second. They look at it for minutes over and over from 20 angles and still don't know what is the right decision...... then get it wrong.

VAR does everything it can not to give goals. As said, football should prevail but VAR ensures it doesn’t.

.... and yet we are still nowhere nearer to hearing about Manchester City's 115 charges.

I know there's a lot to go through blah blah blah but surely it should have all been sorted out by now. It was three years ago tomorrow that "the Premier League referred a number of alleged breaches of the Premier League Rules by Manchester City Football Club to a Commission under Premier League Rule W.3.4.".

I don't think there's a one-size-fits-all punishment. The rules chopped & changed so many times over the years it all down to when the rules were broken and what punishment is suitable for there and then.

Reading got a points deduction and then another one a few months later and they were then effectively relegated.
I don't know the in's & outs of Leicester's situation but who knows, maybe there's more to come?

One place above the relegation zone on GD.

Would quite like to see them go down.
Another club deemed to be 'plucky' when they won things but actually broke all sorts of rules all over the place in terms of their new stadium, getting promoted to the PL and so on.
