Wednesday at The Garage
at 11:50 27 Jan 2019

Just a reminder that this Wednesday, 30th January, three of the UK’s best musicians will be at Swansea Jazzland. Laurence Cottle (bass) ,Ian Thomas (drums) and Gareth Williams (piano/keyboard), will be playing their own inimitable style of jazz. These guys really are “the business “ when it comes to session musicians and have played with the best in the world.
Ians musical credits see him playing in diverse musical genres from Big Bands through to working with artists such as Eric Clapton, Paul McCartney, Elton John, Sting, Mick Jagger, George Michael, Tom Jones, Seal, Rufus Wainwright, Mike & The Mechanics, Michael Jackson and many others.
Laurence has played with many great jazz and also rock musicians including Black Sabath, Eric Clapton, Gary Moore and Van Morrison to name just a few. Gareth is a much sort after keyboard player in the jazz arena and has many big name jazz artists in his list of contributions for playing and arranging.
Should be a fabulous night. 😁

Nice piece about Tea Cosy Pete. Reading through I realised I knew his brother, Billie, when we were younger. Small world. 🙁

😉 Mr. Tan are you aware of the possibilities?

One other thing, did you realise that Swans and Cardiff fans could count the number of goals of their respective games last Saturday on the fingers of one hand?

To live your life with this over your head, because of the incompetence of people who should have known better, must be horrendous. Fortunately his luck has held and he can live a “normal” life now. So many people were put into this situation and lost their lives. Personally, the NHS have been ,on the whole, very helpful to me and my family so I wouldn’t put the blame on the entire system, but surely something went terribly wrong at the time and needs to be addressed before too much longer.
Good luck to those out there with similar problems.

Great entertainment last night
at 21:20 20 Dec 2018

The last event of the year at Swansea Jazzland was held at The Garage last night featuring the amazingly superb Cottle brothers. Joining Dave were his brothers Laurence and Richard along with drummer Paul Smith and Alun Vaughan. For anyone that hasn’t heard of any of these guys, they are some of Swansea’s most talented musicians. The new year brings a new programme of events for most musical tastes including Laurence and possibly one of the best drummers in Britain, Ian Thomas and also Gareth Williams on keyboards. These guys have played with the best in the world and they are coming to play at Swansea Jazzland . Why not come along and see for yourself.

Great to see them help out a youngster in a very sympathetic way. It’s difficult enough to lose your Dad at any age but being so young must be horrendous.

Sir Karl Jenkins gets the keys to the city of Swansea.

Probably the greatest musician to come from this area. A fantastic range of performances and compositions from jazz to classical.

From the Soft Machine.

To this piece for Aberfan.

Stunning. Thank you Sir Karl.
