Summer of jazz at The Garage followed by the Jazz Festival in October.

Half time on Wednesday
at 10:48 4 May 2019

Did anyone else see this on Wednesday?
I usually go for a coffee at half time but this time I was so disappointed with the game I just sat in my seat chatting to those around me. The kids were taking penalties, as usual, and I happened to look up at just the right time and saw this...

Cheered me up no end.🤗
Great news.
at 10:46 7 Apr 2019

Although there won’t be the usual Jazz Festival this year , a smaller Uplands based festival will take place later in the year .👏👏🤗
Also keep your eyes open for a mini Marina based jazz and blues set of events in pubs and clubs in the near future.

I’ll post more info as and when because I know you all like to keep abreast of the jazz news on this site.
Don’t forget, Friday 12th April, the amazing Jo Harman appearing at The Garage.
“Can” you believe this...?

Each to their own, I suppose. Recycling collectors won’t be too pleased with his pile of green bags. 😳

Anyone eaten here?
at 08:23 1 Apr 2019

Swansea’s no.1 rated place to eat, according to TripAdvisor, is in Mumbles. Maybe not the restaurant you’d expect.
I’ve not tried it, has anyone on PS sampled the food here? Looks very good.
Conjures up all kinds of “ugh” images

Has to be a wind up.
To those in the West Stand

WELCOME to the Liberty Stadium. This is where the Swans play their home games in the Championship. You may notice that during the game, some noisy people shout at each other from different parts of the ground. Do not worry, this is normal.
Today’s game is a cup match against Manchester City, but you probably know them already. The away fans tend to sing songs about their Queen and a little ditty about “Sheep’s Haggers” ( must be some sort of delicacy in England 😳) whereas the home fans like to shout that “Engerland is full of ships” or something like that. Also a great ancient song about our old King Hari and his trusty steed when Wales was divided into 5 areas.
Join in with the singing if you like, the words are as follows...

And we were singing
Kings and animals
Land of five farmers
Hari had an ‘orse.

I hope you enjoy your visit, and by the way , if you’d like to leave about 10 minutes early that’s not a problem, many people do but please remember to mutter on the way out...
That’s the last time I’m coming here or
Got to catch the bus/train/taxi
Knew they were rubbish before I came. Etc etc.

Come on our boys ! 🤞. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Anyone on PS in any of these? Good old Spealberg.
Hope this comes off.

Used these changing rooms way back in the early 70’s, as my home ground was Underhill.
Pretty grim then, so it would be great to have the updated pitch and facilities.
Swansea City back in the big time.

Wednesday at The Garage
at 11:50 27 Jan 2019

Just a reminder that this Wednesday, 30th January, three of the UK’s best musicians will be at Swansea Jazzland. Laurence Cottle (bass) ,Ian Thomas (drums) and Gareth Williams (piano/keyboard), will be playing their own inimitable style of jazz. These guys really are “the business “ when it comes to session musicians and have played with the best in the world.
Ians musical credits see him playing in diverse musical genres from Big Bands through to working with artists such as Eric Clapton, Paul McCartney, Elton John, Sting, Mick Jagger, George Michael, Tom Jones, Seal, Rufus Wainwright, Mike & The Mechanics, Michael Jackson and many others.
Laurence has played with many great jazz and also rock musicians including Black Sabath, Eric Clapton, Gary Moore and Van Morrison to name just a few. Gareth is a much sort after keyboard player in the jazz arena and has many big name jazz artists in his list of contributions for playing and arranging.
Should be a fabulous night. 😁
