Went for a pint in my local pub last night after the game. Saw that the pub recently has started to promote Gower Brewery products (part owned by Dineen). I will not be returning there as long as they continue to market and promote their beers etc. and will be informing the landlord and landlady accordingly. Whilst Dineen won't give a damn I know that the landlord and landlady will be disappointed as I have been a regular and loyal customer. The pub like many others cannot afford to lose regular good customers.
In West Stand, a gold signet ring with the initials AH. It's not valuable but of real sentimental value as it was my late father's. Probably flew off whilst clapping and celebrating another vital win today.
He has helped to totally transform our defence since his arrival. His contribution to our defensive organisation is immense. We need to do all we can to keep this guy otherwise top teams such as Arsenal and Liverpool with defensive frailties may try to tempt him away. Clement and Makelele seem an excellent team.
Did not appear last night. Fernandez only player to remain on field for full 90 minutes in sweltering heat and not replaced. Where was Bartley? Noticeable by his absence. Only member of squad out there not to have a run out. Really hope we have not sold him as in my opinion he has far more potential as 3rd choice, ahead of Van de Horn.
Joined us from Vauxhall Conference Wrexham in the summer of 2010. I know for a fact 2 years ago he was on 40 k a week. Today no doubt he is on significantly more. He has not scored a single league or cup goal in the Football league or indeed the Premier league in well over 6 years !! That is a pretty damning statistic. Most full backs chip in with a goal or two now and then some considerably more. Ok some people will argue that he is in the team to defend, but is he effective at that ? I will concede he did get one in the Euros for Wales but even then he it took him 2 attempts. Maybe he will prove a point on Saturday and score. That will give me great pleasure. After all we have waited long enough.
I was privileged to be at the Christmas party at the Liberty stadium last night with the guest speaker being John Harston. John captivated his audience throughout . It was a special night full of laughter followed by tears then more laughter. Most of us are aware of his remarkable story. In the Q & A session that followed it was clearly evident that John would relish being given the opportunity to have a coaching role of some capacity with our club . In my opinion he would be a perfect coach for the forwards and a massive improvement on Beattie . He has done his coaching badges and possesses passion and determination that could only be of benefit to our club . Obviously it would be subject to compatibility with the new manager appointed. Thoughts ?
New York City 5 Orlando 3. What a game David Villa outstanding scored 2 and close to a hat trick. Kaka hits the post in last minute which if scored would have made it 4 4 only for New York City to break away and score number 5. A second half debut for Pirlo. Star of the match for me though Cyle Larin the Orlando centre forward. A great hat trick. What a player!!. Well worth looking at for us.
Jimmy Gilligan probably my favourite Swans striker of all time. Great to see him doing so well at the Nike acadamy. The attached video is really inspirational and well worth a watch (about 30 minutes).
Great fella. Clearly enjoyed his game today at the Liberty today. Showed so much passion and love for the club and the fans after the game. Will never forget that game up in Bury when he scored a great goal in the first minute and we then had to endure 89 minutes of sheer agony to secure promotion. A small piece in the Swansea City success story .
It's my 50th year watching the Swans and have so many players I have admired. For sheer entertainment value Trundle ranks as my Number 1. So pleased I went along to the Liberty today . Well done Lee the word legend is loosely used in football these days but judging by the reception you had today I consider you that. Football is an entertainment business and you have been and still are a true entertainer!! Well done and thanks for so many great memories.
