I thought Azaz was good but people were slating him. Then again I thought THB was awful but apparently he was really good.
I like Leo, and he scored a good goal, but before and after the goal he barely touched the ball yet he gets no grief at all. |

Fair play to those that went cos it sounds bloody miserable. A day of being treated like farm animals whilst being charged through the nose for the privilege. Back in the day the facilities were crap, but at least it was cheap. |

Im genuinely interested to see if this happens and the level of support it gets.
I imagine if the protests are near kick off there might be quite a few in attendance, but if its earlier and fans need to go out their way to get there early im not so sure.
Social media can fool you into thinking the entire fan base is up in arms, but in reality I don't get the sense they are angry in the same way they were with Branfoot, or Rupert Lowe. We'll see... |

I've been to pompey quite a few times over the years and it was lively buti survived. No idea why you would put yourself through this nonsensense.
Headed on and off transport like cattle, being told where and when you can buy food and having to wait around for hours in the cold. Sod that.
I know fans take away trips as a badge of honour but this is ridiculous. It's supposed to be fun.
But getting treated like that and being charged a fortune for the 'privilege' of watching a game, is shocking. Telling us its for our own good is even worse. If you go, more fool you. |

It's been an issue for a while now. I remember saying months back that I haven't seen a 90 minute performance from this squad for ages. Even games we won, we dropped off in the second halves.
Personally I cant believe we aren't fit. Every player has GPS fitted to measure everything both in training and in matches. They'd know if their was a fitness problem.
I think there's a mentality problem. We are extremely weak which worries me for the derby game. |

Very few games available to watch this weekend unless u have tnt. Such a shame , I used to love the cup. Now most is behind a pay wall and the teams all play their reserves.
The one exception was Macclesfield yesterday. Free to air tv and a genuine giant killing. A glimpse of the old days. |

This is an interesting thought....
When Putin invaded Ukraine, Abramovich was forced to sell Chelsea and was even told that he had to donate the proceeds of the sale to those adversely effected by the war (although that is still being argued over).
So now Trump has invaded Venezuela - or at least, assumed control - , does that mean all US club owners in the PL will also be forced to sell?
If not, why not? |

Fair points and it's easy in hindsight. That said, the chances were that Coventry would circle the wagons which they did. It also means that they would back off and let us have the ball, or more specifically let our 3 centre backs have it. None of them are that good on the ball and they aren't the players you want on the ball when trying to unpick a packed defence.
I think it's a bit of a stretch to say what if we made the change then Coventry scored - we would need defenders. They would still only have ten men! I just don't think he should be scared of the opposition. There are times to go for it and let them worry about us. |

I didnt want him, and thought the praise was all a bit premature.
Tbf hes done a pretty good job tho and we've seen a few performances that befitting the comparative riches he had at his disposal.
I would like us to put in a 90 minute performance though. We seem to get a few ahead then paralysis sets in.
As for Saturday.... no one minds a young coach making mistakes but we should at least be able to understand what he was trying. He claimed that sending baz up for corners at the end was because he wanted to win the game. Well maybe don't play the entire second half with 3 centre backs against 10 men then. That made no sense.
Overall, and speaking as a sceptic, hes made a decent start, but we have the team to be top 6 minimum. Anything else will be an under-achievement. |

Im not sure how long we can keep saying we're 'reverting' to it.
We're starting to sound like trump continuing to blame Biden for all his failures.
They aren't robots. If we start to pass slowly and negatively, surely the manager should get on the touchline and go mental. If anyone ignores him, they get hooked. It's not complicated.
But saying that we do it because we were told to 2 managers ago is just bullshit. |

I'm not sure what we need to "learn" that we shouldn't already know.
It looked to me like we got into a great position at half time. Then out tactic seems to be to coast through the rest of the game, take key players off and just manage the game to it's conclusion.
However anyone that has ever played the game or even just watched, knows that this is a risky strategy. One early goal and the entire momentum of a game changes. I have quite a few mental scars from being 3 up at half time.
Why don't we go for another 1 or 2 goals like we did in the first half. Keep them in their own half. If we get a 4th then we can take people off with 20-25 to go.
I just think TE wants to ship oars too early to rest players. If we are 4 or 5 up then those players get a rest anyway as the fight goes out of the opposition.
TBF though we won which is a big improvement since WS left. I wasn't keen on given Ekert the job and I'm still not 100% convinced but I'm happy to be proved wrong and he's done very well so far. |

Which is a very good reason Still got fired. We bought excellent championship players. Fellows was the best in the division last year. Still didn't know how to use him and didn't start him.
Azaz had a similar reputation and often didn't get picked.
Tonda doesn't need to be a genius. Just give a clear consistent message and let good players do the rest. We just need to get out of our own way. |
