Would be disappointed if he was wearing the 9 shirt next season. I know it’s not fair to judge a player on 3 games but he was very ordinary, he’s scored goals though. I still believe Brannigan is the player we should be looking at to replace Fulton |

Brilliant effort from the team, looked like they were going to miss out after dropping points earlier in the year but had a great run in winning six of their last seven games. Sheffield Utd and Birmingham finished first and second in the northern section and Millwall and us in the southern section. I should imagine that we’ll play Sheffield in the semi, lost to them in the cup 5 v1 so a really tough game coming up for them. |

I’ve seen Oxford play three times and he was poor in every game but he’s scored goals this season and they’re in the playoff final which they wouldn’t have reached without his goals but not the centre forward I think we need next season. But Branagan impressed me every game and would be an improvement on Fulton and a lot cheaper |

Well done to Kyrell who’s currently the league’s top scorer in the under 21’s with 15 goals. The squad are having a really good season and are competing to get into the playoffs with just a few games to go and would be good to see one or two get a twenty minute run out with the first team before the season ends. |

Went to watch Oxford Utd v Lincoln in midweek and it wasn’t a bad game which Oxford really should have won. Taylor’s not a target man type of player though he does get around the final third putting defenders under pressure, he’s not tall but you can see he’s spent a lot of time lifting weights and can look after himself. He didn’t stand out but it’s nearly impossible to draw an opinion on one game especially as Lincoln were a bit agricultural, 7 bookings and a sending off, and the way they play I don’t think will necessarily get the best out of him.
A player I do like and I think would be an upgrade on Fulton is Brannigan, a tough midfielder who sees a pass and scores from midfield, surprised he hasn’t moved on.
And should mention that Harris up front was worse then awful [Post edited 19 Apr 22:21]

When the players walk over the white line it’s their responsibility to play the game to the best of their ability and show respect for the shirt and to the fans which they’re not doing. I’ve never seen a manager make a bad pass or header [Post edited 7 Apr 13:25]

Stats, results, who needs them to prove a point anyway. Good post I say.
I think we need to voice some respect to the teams we play against as it’s more then likely they will have good spells in the game and they will possibly score and even beat us though the last three haven’t. No team dominates for the full 90 minutes but it’s about how the team reacts during these situations and I think we’re slowly getting better at it. |

Thanks for your reasoned response and I agree with what you’ve written apart from the discriminatory bit. I didn’t read it as such though I can understand why it could be considered that way. As I said previously none of the commentators make or break my viewing enjoyment but the match summarisers, both male and female, well that’s another topic altogether. |

I don’t care if it’s male or female commentating on a game, I don’t need someone to tell me what I can see happening but if the op cares then that’s his opinion. I’m not sure why anybody can get so upset about itEverything is so binary; he doesn’t like women commentators so he must be ……..
Funny really because my wife doesn’t like listening to women commentators but I don’t think she’s anti anything it’s just her opinion, it won’t keep me awake at night |

Without a doubt he has got quality championship players but he still has to get them to play his way and that took time as at the start of the season they struggled and the supporters wanted him gone. He’s a top coach at this level and it’s proven with the way his players bought into his tactics and have gone on this fantastic run and if he’d extended his stay here I believe he would of got us into the playoffs as well but he didn’t and we ended up with Duff. |

I met Charles a number of years ago when he landed a helicopter in the car park of a company I was working at. I was asked to go down with three others and stand around when he arrived though was told he’ll be leaving immediately. He was about to get in the waiting Range Rover, saw us and walked the 50 yards or so over to us for a chat and he stayed for about 15 minutes until an aid reminded him of the time and to be fair he didn’t have to do that and in that albeit short time he seemed a thoroughly nice bloke. |

The teams finishing in 22nd place and relegated over the last five seasons have averaged 46 points so I think we should be ok unless we collapse of course. |

I’ve listened to Hollinrake a few times in the commons and been impressed by what he’s said and the tone he’s presented it. For those who were found guilty I believe they have been offered a 6 hundred thousand pound payment so things are moving in the right direction. The enquiry has been ongoing for a couple of years already and after watching the horrible post office investigator being questioned today and with the amount of other post office staff being dragged into this it means it’s going to take years unfortunately to see these corrupt lot in a court of law |

For me the result was inevitable. We’ve played against a really good team with excellent players and an excellent manager who haven’t lost for 16 games, winning 11 of those, something that club haven’t succeeded in doing so for absolute donkey’s years and we’re making ourselves look a bit silly if we keep running Martin down especially when we can see the job he’s doing with them.
As for us, we sell good players for good money and lose good managers and replace them with mediocre players and a mediocre manager and to continue this means the inevitable will eventually happen. There seems to be no tactics, no understanding, no plan on the pitch or off it and I do wonder if the owners and there senior off field appointed managers really understand the gravity of the situation we’re in and if they do how to get out of it. Very worrying and very sad |

A while back I’d read about the Real Madrid game so I thought I’d have a look at the Spanish league table and Real finished, if I remember right, fourth or fifth. So obviously they were a good team but no Galacticos whatever those up the road suggest. Beating what was the champions league winners over two legs in a semi final was a far greater achievement and that’ll do for me. |

Just read the Brighton managers press conf. before their European game tonight and he said the club need to retain its DNA. It’s got them into the premier league and Europe so they’d be mad to change so how does this compare to us when the manager says last season was ‘excessive’ and that the games moved on from the’Swansea Way’ and says he’s trying to bring in a different way of playing that currently is, it appears, nowhere near what has brought us success. I want to see the ball on the grass moved through the thirds with technically proficient players not played down the channel as we saw the other night for Cullen to chase after to have a push and shove contest with a big defender. We’re in serious danger of becoming just like most of the other teams outside of the premier league. Then again perhaps I’m missing something and the manager is getting it right. |
