Strangely enough
at 10:27 9 May 2018

I've actually enjoyed most home games under Carlos, we've been competitive, just lacking goals. The effort and commitment has been there which as some have said is a basic requirement, but prior to CC was sadly lacking. Our away performances under him though have been a bit baffling, a bit more belief and we'd probably have a few more points on the board.
I know our net spend has not been great, but to have Borja & Mesa out on loan after shelling out somewhere in the region of 27million , Clucas , Bony & Ayew another 50million give or take, it's a bitter pill to swallow. I know there are no guarantees and it's been said over and over but our recruitment has been a disaster. Clucas is a tryer to be fair but whoever decided the lad was worth 17million on transfer deadline day when no-one else was after him needs sacking.
Whatever will be will be in football and as long as the team give 100% thats all you can ask from them. If they are not good enough, it isn't their fault. It's the coaching and recruitment.
Scrape staying up and do it all again next season or get relegated, I'll be there, where else will I be ?
Gutted for individuals whose jobs are under threat should we get relegated, it must be worrying times for some employees.

Carlos getting Cech's shirt after the game was a bit odd , showed it on the sky sports highlights.

Nathan Dyer

I see he's still getting some stick from a few posters, think one Match day thread regular called him a liability. I think he's been part of our turn around in fortunes, constant thorn in the side for a full back and gives us that outlet that moves the team 20 or 30 yards up the field. He gives an outlet to Naughton and Olsson as he's never afraid to receive the ball, I'd imagine our full backs are more than happy with him in front of them. Just missing goals from his game as he's got older, but he'll do for me at the moment as he makes defenders nervous and liable to a panic or make a mistake. Shout out to the other escaped goat Naughton as well, thought he has played really well since CC has come in.

Interesting to see MOTD highlighting us getting bodies in the box. Good to see, that's a big plus for me.

Staying up.
at 12:15 9 Apr 2017

I still think we stand a more than decent chance of staying up. The last 3 games have been absolute confidence and expectation killers. However if we stay up and I realise it's a big if, next season could be even worse. There appears to be very little money to strengthen a very weak paper thin squad. If we do get relegated then take out Gylfi, Fabs and probably Llorente , then there is a very good chance we could drop straight through the division.
It's a bit concerning that when we had no FB , we use Leroy, as the U23 player not deemed up to it. Likewise, we got no CF and our record signing who also happens to be a striker, can't even get onto the bench.
Even if we stay up the good ship Swansea has been well and truly scuppered I'm afraid,.

Jet - When Britain ruled the skies
at 03:08 9 Jul 2016

Just watched the first episode on bbc iplayer, Amazing footage from the late 1940's, early 50's. Some stunning aircraft, Gloster Meteor, Canberra, Valiant, Victor and Vulcan. The test pilots in those pioneering days were without doubt a different breed, 1 British test pilot died every month. Staggering footage of the 1952 Farnborough airshow where the De-Haviland 110 was being tested, it broke the sound barrier then disintegrated in a vertical climb. The 2 jet engines shot out like missiles and ploughed into the watching crowd killing 28 people and injuring 100's. So what did they do??? took away the dead and injured, cleared the debris from the runway, and carried on with the show............ UNBELIEVABLE. The next pilot to fly was Neville Duke who was a WW2 fighter pilot, actually broke the world speed record the same afternoon. B*lls of steel.

I remember a thread a while back regarding parking tickets in morfa, the advice then was ignore them and they will get bored and eventually stop sending them. Anyone had any recent experience of dealing with this?

Who do you dislike and why?
at 12:36 24 Mar 2015

Seeing Steven Gerrard sent off the weekend made me chuckle as I've never liked him always had a dirty streak in him, not hard, which you need to be, but dirty.
Which players do you really dislike in the PL,
My top 3 would be Charlie Adam, Ryan Shawcross both cowardly players & Kevin Nolan , no reason , just don't like him.

Morning after
at 07:08 2 Feb 2015

Great 3 pts few of us genuinely expected, would have bitten your hand off for 1. Fab looked safe as houses, Ash and Fede were outstanding. Naughton looks a decent long term replacement for Rangel. Taylor still doesn't stop the cross coming in. Thought Carroll and Fulton did ok in the middle. Really don't know whats wrong with Dyer at the moment, he used to be able to influence games, hope its just a loss of confidence and he'll come bouncing back. Gomis put a good shift in, but is certainly no Bony, we need to tailor our game slightly as he isn't going to bully defenders the way Wilf used to. JJS is being lauded atm and rightly so, but is just as likely to have a brain fart next game and be back to being the escaped goat again. There is definitely no middle ground for Jonjo. Anyway nice to wake up with that warm feeling on a Monday morning that only 3 points can give you.

Just catching up on the highlights from Champions League, listened to Paul Merson describe Arsenal as clueless and pathetic. Who the hell gives this loser a job summarising football matches, still remember his bitter rant when he was Walsall manager after we thumped them. He really is a pathetic waste of space, poorly spoken, ignorant, bitter and pretty stupid.
Grips my shit he still makes a living from football.

Do you sing?
at 23:34 3 Feb 2014

There are a lot of threads regarding the lack of atmosphere and whether the crowd needs to get the players up or vice versa. I'm fast approaching the big 50 and don't sing anyway near as much as I used to. I join in the old Hymms and Arias at the start but that is pretty much it tbh. I would feel pretty stupid singing Cardiff City is falling down, England is full of sh*t, Come on Wilfried Bony etc etc! Any other old farts feel the same? or just me.
