I think he should be a good old-fashioned utility man given half our squad at any one time is unavailable, as much as I’m sure he sees himself in a particular position and wants to play there. They don’t really exist any more but it suits a guy who is ok at everything and not great at anything. Still think there’s something in there and he’s perhaps not helped by the move away from 4-4-2 and being an option on the right of that. |

You can’t be giving fouls against the great Jarrod Bowen doing everyone a favour to get £4m a year to play against pleb teams like us.
He was frustrated, dives in for what is probably an aggressive but clean tackle if Vale doesn’t move his body to make it a very obvious foul. Young ref, probably the biggest game of his life and certainly knew he’d made a howler in the first half then did his utmost to even it up for the entire second. The one where Kone was holding the ball up for about three days as the defender fouled him was laughable. |

Bit surprised tbh. It’s a dump and we’ve played there a billion times before and people may be making the financial decision to skip it between West ‘am and Southampton. Got fairly reasonable trains a while ago including the South coast to London legs of the journey. The LSA are doing a coach too. |

In theory it could mean a five day ban from club football I believe. The wording isn’t very consistent though- either the club forced him to return early, seemingly unlike the various other players we have around the world right now, or didn’t.
Much easier of course to just tell your national team manager you don’t fancy it and get a few weeks with your feet up á la Palmer and Rice. |

I really doubt it. No Solomon, Khalaili or Peretz (gk) for Israel so it’s a seriously dire XI. Would be surprised if Ireland don’t win quite comfortably and that they’re close to Evens. Expect both squads are a bit done with it and would rather have their feet up ahead of the weekend. |
