Just a quick plug for my new book 'Alive and Kicking; The Ultimate Book of 90s Football Nostalgia' which is out now. It's basically a trip down memory lane for anyone who appreciates that era of football. Includes a few QPR references too, naturally.
I know quite a few on this board dream of having adidas making QPR kits again, like the classic 80's Guinness shirts. But just take a look at this summer's adidas catalogue and see how templated the majority of their new shirts are.
If really annoys me, as it's so lazy! Why not design a different kit for every team, isn't that more 'creative' anyway? Especially when this years 'batwing' template is very dull. Just look at the designs of Southampton, Swansea, Stoke (A), Hull (A) and Bolton to name a few - all the same. While Fulham's new home and Southampton's away are also a different templated design.
From what I've seen it's only West Ham and Chelsea who've got away with it, and surprise, surprise they are the best designs from adidas this year.
I've never been a fan of Lotto until this summer, but I'd take them over a standard design from one of the bigger brands this season.
Wonder if you guys can help. I'm writing a new book on Football Nostalgia in the 1990s, and although I've collected a number of random things from the era I want to make sure I'm not missing anything.
So think, football themed stickers/toys/TV/Video/Computer Games all from that era and let me know your best memories. All help is welcome!
I just received word that upon it's first few weeks on sale, my book The QPR Miscellany sold 230 odd copies. So thanks to anyone on here who purchased it, hoping full six months sale will hold that trend!
I'm helping out on a new website that was launched today called Pick Our Team. The basic premise is that before every game, you pick what QPR team you'd like to see play and then once the game is finished you get to compare it to the one actually selected. What's more you can rate each player from the corresponding game in a number of categories, and even give Mark Hughes and the ref a mark too. It's early days so no doubt there's a few teething problems, but be great if you could check it out. Link and Twitter feed are below, along with the official blurb from the site.
Have Your Say Pick Our Team is all about getting the fans’ opinion heard by the people in charge — whether it’s your ideal line-ups, ratings of individual players or thoughts on managers, referees and team tactics. Our community sparks debate about all the latest matches, issues, news and players, which we then present to the decision-makers at the clubs you love. Join the debate with other fans, create your ideal squad match-by-match and keep an eye on our leaderboards, created entirely by you. Stay ahead of the game, prove your worth and get your voice heard.
Know Your Stuff Every week we challenge you to select your line-up, including the three substitutes you would choose to use, for every Premier League match. Once the game is over, you will be able to compare your line-up with your fellow fans to see how the majority wants their team to play. The Fans’ Verdict page allows you to compare and score your selections against your Manager.
Rate Your Players After every game, you can mark your players on four key elements to their game: talent, leadership, work-rate and popularity. As the season progresses, you are the ones who decide which players are exceeding expectations and those who are falling short. Your ratings will be automatically fed into our leaderboard where you can see the top-rated players in every position, and attribute, across the league. Oh, and every time you rate players in your club, you will get another ten epoints.
For anyone who has kids, the magazine I'm an editor of has an interview with Djibril Cisse in the issue out today. Also has enough free gifts to entertain a young'n for the whole summer!
Maybe like this? Possible Cisse could get 9 and Zamora 25 as that's his preferred number. Not sure 9 will stay with DJ as he could be off along with others with an star next to them.

Below is current first team squad of 30, bearing in mind we need a squad of 25. Who goes along with Paddy? Four won't make the squad and that's if we don't bring in anymore signings.
