Hull Reflection
at 17:20 22 Nov 2025

I feared the worse today when we went behind twice, but the team showed real character coming from behind.

Soft goals to let in, Clarke-Salter not showing enough strength for second and Hamer should not of been beaten at the near post.

That’s the negatives out the way as we had far more positives.

Created lots of opportunities, quality balls into the box today.

Lots of good performances today but MOM today Chair

Southampton… How do we think we will line up?
at 06:33 5 Nov 2025

Nardi

Dunne
Morrison
Mbengue
N-Davies

Smyth
Madsen
Varane
Saito

Chair

Burrell/Kone

That is what I think he will go with, but not necessarily what I think he should go with.

It is quite strange at the moment as I don’t believe the fans or the manager know what the best 11 are, but we are in a better position now against the last 2 seasons with a stronger squad so something must be right.

Ipswich Reflection
at 18:16 1 Nov 2025

It was going to click for Ipswich at some stage and unfortunately it was today.

The line up today was very attack minded against a team that are poor at the back, but have an embarrassment of talent going forward, so the approach was risky match fire with fire and their flames were more dangerous than ours.

Was it the right approach? … I don’t know, but the result tells us it wasn’t.

In summary

Esquerdinha.. Destroyed for the 1st goal

Centre Half’s .. beaten in the air for 2 goals not acceptable, but something we lack quality delivery into the box

Nardi…probably question his position for both free kicks

Cook…Looks like age is catching up on him and you can’t escape

Vale… Good when it is going well, but today so many misplaced passes.

Kobe… Seemed to be in a sulk all day.

But no complaints about the results as you are going to struggle against a team with 10-15 million pound players in the bench.

I would have personally gone a bit more defensive and played. Varane, Field instead of Burrell in the hope of containing and frustrating and then gone for it by bringing on Burrell, Chance to put things right on Wednesday but that will be tough.

I would line up

Nardi
Dunne
Morrison
Mbengue
N Davies
Smyth
Varanne
Madsen
Field
Chair
Kobe

Hopefully a reaction on Wednesday….Today’s Our thrown in’s very poor as nobody shows….The best one today was in the second half when the fellow launched it from the upper loft and hit the Ipswich keeper on the head.

A fair result and list to a side with an embarrassment of talent.

Ipswich going into the match are a team in a false position and it was going to click for them at some stage and unfortunately for us it was today..

Squirting hopelessly beaten on the wing for the 1st goal.

In fairness we responded well attacking Ipswich right quite a bit as Chair was getting lots of success against Furlong and good following up by Butr

Oxford Utd Reflection
at 22:21 1 Oct 2025

One of those games where you expect 3 points, but didn’t create enough to deserve 3 points and fair play to Oxford as they did what they had to do very well.

I can’t honestly remember either keeper making a save in the game:

The starting line up lacked a bit of creativity with Hayden and Field in the middle a kind of pairing you would go with in an away game against one of the top teams not in a game you are expected to dominate and win.

I will say we did get into some strong crossing positions but the balls never got past the 1st defender.

A bit disappointed tonight in the fact we lacked that cutting edge …MOM …nobody stood out but will go with Norrington-Davies

Charlton A Reflection

I can honestly say for the 1st 83mins it was like Preston on repeat… Started well scored then lost our way and conceded, but step forward Saito who showed a piece of class with his goal and benefits of being two footed as the defender did not know what way to show him and bang goal. Good finish from Kone for the 3rd but at 2-1 I would have hooked for a defensive midfielder.. Die a bit of luck and got it today. MOM today and you can’t knock Madsen today but will go with Mbengue. I also thought Vale was a bit out of his depth, but Norrington-Davies could be answer to a problem.

Preston Reflection
at 18:20 9 Aug 2025

A mixed one today, but overall the positives outweighed the negatives .

The Good

1st half performance
The pace of Doku, Dembele going forward.
Morrison.
Esquerdinha
Mbengue (1st half and at Right back.
Morgan covering at Right Back
Burrell looks a handful.

The Poor

Not getting 3 points at home to Preston.
The second half performance.
Did not create much.
Being honest I thought if someone was going to win it was going to be Preston.
Lack of experience game management.

The Very Poor

The Officials
Conceding the way we did.

Summary

Really missed Varane and his bite and I am not sure if we can play Poku, Chair and Dembele together with Madsen playing instead of Varane as it lacks ball winning bite. The squad looked more balanced. Mbengue 1st 20mins of the second half he seemed to push up blind for offside leaving us open to the ball over top but that understanding will come in time

But overall walked away feeling we are going in the right direction and not to concerned about Left Back being a problem area but maybe a little concerned how we fell away ion the second half.

MOM today between Morrison .

Also I saw play no different today than how we played under Marti.

Come on you R’s.

Burnley Reflecrion
at 15:40 26 Apr 2025

Last Home game of the season and an opportunity to go out and give the fans a send off for the summer and a chance to spoil someone else’s party.

Well none of that happened as good as Burnley were as pathetic QPR was.

Yes I get a bigger budget gets you better players but no excuses for a lack of effort and work.

A massive reset needed from top to bottom. If Marti stays which I don’t think he will be then he needs an input on the players coming in as the players that have come in don’t seem right for the style he wants to play and if he stays go away in the summer a devise a plan B as that is something I don’t think we have at the moment but maybe injuries and personnel is dictating that.

So much work work needs to be done in so many areas and Mr Dubai needs to go to as the job he is doing does not seem to work with him working remotely with the amount of players out I injured.

Enjoy the summer and I suppose the only good thing that happens in football is that change can happen quickly.

Swansea Reflection
at 17:56 21 Apr 2025

Disappointing performance by Rangers today.

The game was lost in the 1st 70 minutes due to the lack of urgency, effort, spark, fight against a side who fairness had a go.

Swansea where full of shithousery today and played that well today with the time wasting, the nudges in the back, the fake head injuries etc…,

The referee was very poor today with some very strange decisions and seemed to let a lot go which opened the doors to all of the above, but that is no excuses for the poor performance and if my memory serves me well only 1 shot on target, but I guess Swansea only had two.

Poor performances from Dunne, Fox, Anderson, Yang, Kolli,

The changes did spark a reaction and fine ball from Madsen.

Would have liked to see a system change instead of a personnel change today as something different was needed as the game went on.

Varanne a massive miss today for 2 reason a) quality player b It took Edwards out of the back 4 and put Fox in.

Least nothing was riding on the game MOM at a push Colback/ Morrison

A good point for QPR today considering the players we have out.

Bristol City a very good side with the ball but very shy in putting the ball into the box and I can’t really remember Nardi making many saves considering the possession they had.

QPR goal was a great move and a great team goal.

Some good performances today and improvement shown from Ashby and Madsen. 3 standout players today. Morrison and Edwards but MOM today was Varane.

A good point towards safety

Cardiff Reflection
at 17:28 5 Apr 2025

A poor game between 2 very poor sides and a nervy game too as it was a game we could not afford to lose. The game had little or no real clear cut chances with the ball spending more time in the air instead of the ground.

In the current situation we find ourselves in we are going to score lots of goals as we have no attacking options which took a further blow with Lloyd going off and in fairness performed quite well.

Field looked rushed back and off the pace.

It might turn out to be a good point as a Cardiff win would have dragged us back into the mix.

As good as Nardi is with shot stopping he struggles badly judging crosses.

Really poor performances from Yang and Anderson .

MOM today Edwards

Leeds Reflection

A great game today and I honestly felt Rangers did well against good side and even more so when you consider how many players where out injured.

Yes Leeds did have lots of possession but I can’t really remember Nardi making many and if any saves.

I think the move if Edwards into midfield was the right move today and I can see that remaining until Varanne gets back.

The timing of the Leeds 1st goal was a killer and looking bqck it was rightly given.

Was pleased with the draw as I could only see one winner and would have took that before the game.

Saito Red card was harsh and someone might need to explain to me how it was worse than the one on Smyth by Struijk, but the official where poor all day. MOM tough one to callas some very good battling displays but Dunne I guess. Come on you R’s

Sheffield United Reflection
at 18:02 1 Mar 2025

Poor 1st goal to concede as the ball into the box had no real pace on and 2 defenders did not deal with or neither did the keeper come out and claim it. Morgan although a wonderful talent looked off it and I would say after 30mins he needed to be replaced by Saito with Chair going more central, that change was done but in my opinion too late. The second goal should have been dealt by Edwards earlier but it was a quality finish by Campbell. I thought we gave it a good go but just fell short, but United where a very good side packed with lots of quality attacking players and a 10 million player on the bench (Cannon) and let’s not forget Moore too.

So fallen just short I suppose against a team like that with us in the bottom half of budgets in the championship is I guess no reason to be to disheartened.

Cook looks a little off it maybe Morrison needs to come in.

One player i thought was outstanding Varanne.

No complaints today and gave it go against possibly the best side I have seen at HQ this season.

Final word officials very poor today the linesman in the 1st half missed a couple of offsides and in the second half balls going out of player and the referee was generally poor too. Lots of tough games ahead in the coming weeks so a call for patience with this young squad.

Really didn’t deserve anything quite a flat performance. Portsmouth pressed us very well and out worked us a bit and was 1st to the 2nd ball.

The way Portsmouth pressed us resulted in hitting lots of long balls which we didn’t hold up at all.

Poor today.

Blackburn Reflection

Played really well in the 1st half and I thought it might come back to haunt us a bit when we missed our chances to go 2 up.

I honestly thought when Blackburn equalised there would be only one winner and that weren’t going to us and although they had lots of possession we in general defended well.

A cracking strike by Jack took the points against a very good side.

Some good performances especially from Nardi who made some excellent saves l, but one player really stood out tonight in defence and bringing the ball out of the back Ronnie Edwards was different class.

Really important 3 points tonight as 3 defeats really would have done the confidence in.

Luton Reflection

Starting line up as expected after maybe one of our best performances.

Started really well and looked so comfortable and went ahead against a very disinterested Luton, but after 25-30mins just turned off and invited Luton back into the game and with that encouragement they equalised.

The winner well we deserved a bit of luck.

Sensible subs with Varane on a yellow, but a strange call to put Edwards in as a holding midfielder, but that was quickly corrected bringing Colback on to replace Ashby and putting Dunne out right.

The winger Chong was a right handful and we really did struggle with him.

Very nervous everytime they had a set piece as they had the beating of us in the air everytime.

But a win is a win .

MOM Morgan old head on young shoulders

A dogged team performance and defended really really well and in numbers something that was missing at the start of the season.

Some really good performances today across the team but some real standouts today in Ashby, Smyth, Varanne but one player really stood up today and that was Jimmy Dunne as my MOM.

We scored goals at important times which really really helped us out.

Really good clever substitute today showing a bit of strength in depth.

Happy start to 25 come on you R’s

A great result at HQ today in a game when we were a goal down would have possibly lost a few months ago.

A great atmosphere today rounded off by a great winner from Jimmy Dunne.

Looks like we have a bit of strength in depth obviously not up front but different options.

Only negative was the injury to Steve Cook who is a massive player for us.

Got what we deserved today against a poor side.

MOM today Morgan the young was quality but pushed closely by Varane.
