Does anyone have any thoughts on a Chico return to the Club....made his Money over the last few years playing for Clubs who pay a lot of wages. Have not seen him in action since he left but we do need another experienced Centre Half. Discuss......
Looking to get away for a few days walking around Our Gower but on a budget...been looking at prices for pitching a 2 Man Tent at popular campsites and coming in at around £25.00 per night. 5 nights coming in at over £125. (if i last that long). Don't mind maybe 2 nights at that price for showering, treating myself to a BBQ, taking on supplies etc... "Wild Camping" on National Trust property is apparently illegal, has anyone on here just pitched up without repercussions?
Did any older Swans fans travel to watch us at the Atari Soccer Sixes in Birmingham? With today's football being partly based on Squad Rotation and Resting Players did we send most of our First Team Squad to Play? Remember seeing a photo in an Old Shoot Annual with Chris Sander in Goal there.
04/02/2019 will be 27 Years since Alan Davies passed away. Tried looking for his Free-kick away at Cardiff in a 2-2 draw think David Puckett scored on that day too. Scored the same type of Free-kick away at Barry Town in the Welsh Cup. Here he sets up two goals in the FA Cup Final. Think Alan was only 30 when he died only a kid these days. Does anyone else have fond memories of his time down the Vetch?
Seeing as Joma our kit supplier is a Spanish company is it feasible that Baston was signed as part of the deal? Im sure ive heard that Nike and other sports companies sometimes meddle in a footballers transfer?
I know we were involved in tournaments in Kuala Lumpar and i remember seeing us in Shoot magazine in a 6-aside tournament in the 80's with Chris Sander in goal but can anyone else remember us being involved in a six-a-side tournament i think in north wales and was televised at some point on s4c? think hibs were involved?
Rumors about the Tom Carroll transfer and comments on this site (no fight for a relegation battle etc.) have made me wonder if academy football is the right platform for future players. When i was a youngster playing for the Swans Cygnets sides at under 14 and 15 level we used to play in the Swansea league against teams who were a year above us. Trips to paradise park to play against West End were very daunting there would be a welcoming committee waiting for us players mates in tracky bottoms who would offer our manager out at every decision that went against them. As were our home games at the Ganges against everyone who wanted to kick the f##k out of us. (i blame our manager for making us warm up in the centre circle before every game dressed in highly polished boots and wearing Hummel kits and DP training jackets.) My point is with all the Tiki-taka football academies around the country playing every week against other clubs of the same set-up are we taking away the Bottle and Heart of players which should be used if need be for a relegation fight?
This season reminds me so much of the 1982/83 season.... riding high on past achievements, the board just wanting to take as much before it all comes crashing down, players bought for over the odds and paid big wages some who will never play for the club again, egotistical manager/chairman/directors.....heres our line up next year.... 1.Davies/Rimmer/Sander/Fab 2.Wyndham Evans/Rangel 3. Gary Richards/Kingsley 4. Emlyn Hughes/Monk (we dont have any players old enough to play this role). 5. Pat MacCuillam (or this one) 6. Gary Stanley/ Ki 7. Colin Pascoe / James (not robbie or leighton was on the bench last night). 8.Huw Lake /Fulton 9. Latchford / Llorente 10. Gale/ Mcburnie 11. Me (Cant run as much as i used to but got a wicked left foot)
