:) this reminds me of when I taught my husband to play chess and let him win, after which he decided to retire as undefeated champion.
At least he had won though, so that did have a certain logic
I suppose those who chose to repeatedly call others thick / stupid for their opinions might well be considered to have a prejudiced view. I just think it rather rude and reflects poorly on the poster who needs to resort to wide generalisation and abuse to express themselves. |

Hey cat my thoughts and very best wishes will be with you tomorrow for your op at last.
Just over 15 years now since I had the second of my 2 hip ops (6 months apart). I was so nervous but did not know a thing and totally transformational for me as I was dragging myself around on crutches. Thought it would feel a bit robotic after but felt totally natural. Don’t forget the physio if you can, the pool is great for exercise too to get the muscles etc. back in tip top shape :)
15 years on mine still serving me well (touching that wood), never been able to bite my toenails since though ;) |

Let’s hope rumours of Highjack’s demise have been greatly exaggerated (or at least that of the person behind the ID)
He is greatly missed from here though, sharp as a whip with a wicked sense of humour, articulate and gently irreverent but without rancour. One of the few posters who would make me laugh out loud.
As said Humpty was pretty much diametrically opposed as a character, be very surprised if they were one and the same, but if anyone could pull off 2 such consistently different characters it would be HJ.
Wherever he is, his brilliant wit remains, most hopefully still ongoing in this world. Lots of love to you Highjack for all the fun you have given us. |

I have to admit fitting in has always been a bit of an anathema to me. Although in reality I probably do it as much as anyone else.
It is good to be yourself (always supposing yourself is a good thing to be) but whilst understanding everyone else is themself. |

I wouldn’t mind it was my big one, large battery, totally stuck, and drilling it out did not seem such a good idea :)
Still have it somewhere, not got the heart to throw out such a thing of beauty
In fairness wrote to Duracell and they compensated me for the torch and sent vouchers for new batteries - customer service sometimes crap, sometimes amazing.
Always try to praise the amazing - very much hoping I get kudos for that on here ;) |
