I thought Dan Moss had a great game today. Yes he may not be as dynamic going forward as other players in our squad but he's so solid defensively. Wins almost every header he contests and he's great in the tackle and so hard working. Brilliant header to set up Smith for the winner too.

There's no easy games when the pressure of a title is at stake with 10/11 games to go. Who'd have thought we'd beat Southend, Carlisle, Borehamwood and Forest Green but drop points at Yeovil. York haven't tasted defeat for over half a season until last Tuesday - who knows how they'll react and without their number 9 on Saturday? There will be lots of twists and turns to come yet.

To be fair he had 80 mins last night to try and get 3 goals.

Just watched the goals back. 2 truly awful goals conceded. Twice Whatmuff has been beaten now by that looping header at Yeovil and last night. The 2nd corner the player peels to the back post and its another free header and Whatmuff isn't fouled - no one near him really so don't know why he's complaining. We need to sort out these lapses because we shouldn't need 3 goals at home to win a game.

A stark contrast to York manager's post match.

To be fair Brackley looked better than their league position and didn't play like a team who'd lost their last 3 games. They certainly gave us more problems than many teams we've played this season. Thank God for Mani D - real quality tonight and he got us the win we needed with York slipping up - Boreham Wood (a) was highlighted as a potential bananaskin for them last week when talking about them not losing again this season. Hopefully their confidence will have taken a knock - its amazing what 1 defeat after so long undefeated can do.

Got to laugh at the ref saying 'holding offence' - well he put his hand on his shoulder if that is holding?

One bit of luck for us yesterday was Sean Patton being recalled by Reading. He'd scored a lot for Aldershot in their recent good run.

I mean - its debatable if its even a penalty but a penalty and red card? With the Hartlepool penalty they got in very similar circumstances it does seem like they are going down intentionally looking for them.

Yes - we dont need to think about next Tuesday's game or a week on Saturday. Beat Aldershot - then go from there.

13 left for Dale and 12 left for York including that last game.
Still very much in our own hands.

I can see York losing or drawing as early as next Tuesday night when the play a resurgant Borehamwood away.

This footage shows the Gordon penalty incident a bit better. It certainly looks to me like the defender catches his left foot. Looks more a penalty than an obvious dive. The yellow card for a dive looks very harsh as its not 100% clear and the ref shouldn't be guessing.

I think it was a penalty. Players go down now all the time with minimal contact (Berger). It was certainly no different to the penalty Gordon got v Southend in the play offs. Just all depends on the ref on the day.
