I’ll be honest - that looks a bit steep. But I am a notorious tight wad. |

Can't disagree with any of that. I think that you are right about his distribution. It was comically bad under Ainsworth and it was no surprise that Cifuentes, like all the cool and groovy kids wanted to play out from the back, something that we all seemed would be beyond Begovic. However, I suspect that they rather stumbled on the idea of Dunne at right back to solve this problem rather than Dunne's late evident attacking qualities. That 'out' ball meant that Begovic's lack of confidence (technique?) with the ball at his feet, provided us all with some relief. |

Does it involve kayaking and / or lorry drivers? |

I am always somewhat reticent to contribute to threads such as these, as what you get out of / enjoy from a city will be down to your personal tastes – and age? (Indeed, you may not like cities, or this one!) However, I have been to Barcelona about a dozen times and I am a fan. I would recommend that you do the open top bus tour https://www.barcelonabusturistic.cat/en which is hop on / hop-off but you don’t necessarily need to do that as you can always go back to sites that spark your interest using public transport. Barcelona has a comprehensive integrated metro / bus / train network. Everyone knows about the Sagrada Familia but I think there are better Gaudi (and other modernista) buildings. By all means go inside and do the tour but it is (was) expensive and it’s still not finished! You can get good pics from outside without going in. I personally recommend https://www.casabatllo.es/en/ which is central. (Tip – always take out an audio guide.) La Rambla is a tourist trap but still good but the city is so much more than this. |

Out or interest, does your fasting include not drinking? I think I could cope with not eating but not even drinking water (which is what Moslems do in Ramadan) is what I could not manage. I am constantly told by doctors that rehydration is vital to good health. So that is the only thing I would doubt regarding elite athletes, however conditioned they are to this regime. |

The only thing missing from this report was Clive’s opinion on what body part exactly did Fox score with. I know what it looked like on the live stream. |

Absolutely. Should be a yellow for ungentlemanly conduct. If they also incorporate a hop in the air like ManU’s Fernandez and that C***sea bloke, they should be taken out by a sniper. |

Indeed a Tale of Two Entities. AM and PM. That’s AM (Ante-Marti) and PM (Post-Marti’s appointment) It’s a far greater thing that Marti is doing now, than he has ever done before. |

Apart from that, how did you enjoy the theatre Mrs. Lincoln? |

There was a very good explanation and discussion about this on 5 Live’s Monday Night Club. They had that football finance fella on (Kieron?) He thinks something will definitely happen, as this is an attempt by the middle-ranking clubs to prevent the big six getting even richer rather than reversing their financial dominance. He thinks this is being led by Steve Parish the Palace chairman. The early indicative vote got 16 votes, they only need 14 to effect a change. |

One thing that is almost guaranteed on Saturday (regardless of what we do tomorrow) is some wacky scores as teams go for broke and throw caution to the wind. I am expecting a 4-4 or a 3-6. |

I also find that most people from Yorkshire announce that they’re from Yorkshire within 20 seconds of meeting you. (Disclaimer: Not all Leeds fans are from Yorkshire.) |
| Forum Reply | We are not safe!!! at 09:31 22 Apr 2024
I post this somewhat reluctantly but I need to get this of my chest. Let me first say that I don’t think we’re favourites to go down but here’s the rub. We go first on Friday and it’s not any stretch of the imagination to see us lose to Leeds. Our loss would give the others some hope and something to aim for on Saturday. Now we all know that one of Birmingham or Huddersfield cannot get above us. But if enough results go against us on Saturday, we could be going to Coventry with everything to play for. Can we trust this QPR team to not put in another Stoke away of SW at home performance? For us to go down we get no more points (?) and ALL of the following, Blackburn get one point, Plymouth 2 points and SW & Brum 4 points from their remaining two games. Unlikely? Yes. But not completely out of the question given their fixtures. I am not normally one of this site’s Jeremiahs but I hope we have not gone too early in the congratulations. Feel free to come back on this thread on Saturday and call me a bedwetter, if we’re safe mathematically then. [Post edited 22 Apr 9:37]
