Its you and a few others need to get real........
IF, yea IF, we will never know but what we do know was by taking him (& Smyth) off weakened the left side so that Bowen, who had been kept pretty quiet most of the night, started to 'bother' us big time.
It is an absolute crap view to take you best player(s) off and loose all our posives in the match. Arguably best two last night was Boy & Smyth.
But yea I will get real & say what I think is right.
Nowt to do with Scarlett but hey, JS said he was taken off at HT against Preston because of being tactical, didnt play last night though did he when he did so well apparently.......Scarlet was taken off because it was a bad decision to start him!!! Rangers love people like you who are so naive they can tell you anything and you believe it!!! |

Lets see if Smyth is fit for Wednesday?? Most players play with knocks. Boy was comfortable all night long and should not have been replaced......its a 'f'ing mans game & not for sissies!!! One game at a time, stop concerning about future matches, get your best team out to win the match.
If neither are fit then that is why we have a squad & when we can introduce young players to the squad |

Agreed wholeheartedly.
The 'big question'......would we have walked away with 3 points if Boy & Smyth were not replaced?? Who knows but I certainly think that we would of had a much better chance to get all 3. |

Lets just play one game at a time, Derby game should not be a consideration. WTF do they know anyways - Lamptey injured a few minutes after replacing Boy!!! If Boy looked tired, etc, etc then replace him but he looked pretty fit and comfortable to me. Poor decision. [Post edited 10 Oct 8:36]

Kolli started because JS had very limited options, very limited, if he didn't want to disrupt other positions within the Team. Kolli was average most of the night, gave the ball away & failed to cope with the physically of the West Ham defenders. |

The first half was our best 45 minutes this season.....we were 'proper'. We made West Ham look very average indeed.
Second half West Ham were a little better & we did not play as well although I thought that we looked reasonably comfortable.
Then JS struck and replaced, arguably, our best two players in Boy & Smyth and disrupted the team in doing so. Boy looked totally relaxed all game and he takes him off for Lamptey - that is a 'rubbish' decision. Guess what Lamptey got injured very soon and we are then in real trouble. Vale, who JS thinks is good (he isnt) replaced Smyth a thorn in West Ham's side all night (think he had a slight knock but could have carried on) and failed to support defensively down the left. They equalised, subs on, etc, etc.
Overall, I am proud of the boys, they can hold their heads high.
Many 'proper' performances from the boys but the keeper has to be the winner. |

Nobody, in their right mind, want to get beat......but all the Club want to see is improvement and development of the players so that they are good enough for, basically the only team that counts in the Club which is, the First Team. |

Boys football is boys football.......results are not on the agenda. It is all about improving and improving week on week, learning their trade and getting better players. End of. Results do not matter. |

Agreed..........and why JS has to get his team selection right, if JD was not fit then he should not have played and stop concerns about what mat happen when it comes to bookings. |

It was a friendly match not a 'full blown' Championship game......very different indeed. Tackling, aggression, physical stuff all banned!!! Lots of changes I would expect, from both sides. [Post edited 4 Oct 14:04]

A couple of things Hoopsie.......basically all about JS & IMHO JS messed up big time but done very well at half time to correct it. It also shows how poor PNE are when we 'ran' the 2nd half with 10 men and very unlucky not to win the match in the last 45 minutes.
1 - JS made a 'schoolboy' replacing Vale with Varane......two very different footballers, chalk & cheeze if you like. The Team would have looked at PNE and their play probably on Friday. I would expect the Team to have known who was starting/playing and given detailed instructions how to defend & how to brake them down & what they should be aware of from the players of Preston. This decision must have thrown all the pre-match plans into disarray.....a waste of time basically.
2 - JD mistake was simply very poor play and nothing the Manager could do about.
3 - Likewise the sending off, and trust me it was a sending off tackle.
4 - The 2nd goal was another poor defensive play by several players, maybe 4 including the keeper.
Fate, not sure about that, bad decisions in playing 'the boy' and not an experienced pro (there are no easy games in the Championship, they are tough, proper tough, one way or the other, there are games when you expect to win and this was one of them) and even worse was replacing Vale with Varane - shocking!!
The excellent news were that the issues were addressed by JS & his team at half time, replaced Varane & Scarlett, very quickly and introduced more attacking experienced players.
I enjoyed the second half immensely, what Rangers fan didn't, because we were positive, moved the ball quickly, wanted it and so on...attitude was so different - why.
Why we were not like that in the first half, I cannot answer because I was not in the dressing room but what I can comment on was the team selection and the Vale matter because it was there to see.
Hopefully we can learn from it and improve even more to give us a 'chance' this season but it will not be easy if mistakes are made. |

It was wrong to start him, he is not ready yet, he was pretty average when he was playing & hence why he was replaced at HT, I doubt if he will get many starts this season, there were two championship wingers sitting on the bench who livened us up when they came on. JS got it badly wrong & why he was replaced at HT.
He did couple of 'alright' things at WBA the previous week, nothing more. |

A no pressure game is Man City away in a cup game or a league cup match where there is no pressure to win the game....... not PNE at home in a game we expect to win and win comfortably and when JD has said we are looking for a 6th place position this season puts pressure on players and contrary to what you say 'no pressure'. - in front of 17000 fans too. It is not a low risk game either.
The lad is not ready to start Championship football just yet especially when we have ready for action Championship wide players getting splitters on the bench. |
