Swansea City v Blackburn Rovers : March day thread

Aidan Newhouse surely takes the biscuit. Genuinely could not understand how he was a professional footballer.

Eh? I thought it was quite clear. Could you add clarification to the part of your post that I highlighted. I didn't understand the point you were trying to make. Cheers.

'Mass immigration, add to that a slimy labour mayor called Marvin Rees, who is in the same mould as Sadiq Khan.'

Would you care to elaborate?

It’s only a laugh !

It’s all fun in the old people's dementia nursing home where Mavis is walking around the corridors with her zimmer frame which she thinks is a car.
She goes around one corner where an old boy stops her. ‘Excuse me love’ he says ‘have a you got a driving license for that?’ She pulls out an old bingo card and shows it to him. ‘No worries love’ he says ‘on you go’.
She turns another corner and another old boy stops her. ‘Can you show me a valid tax disc please?’ She finds an old bus ticket in her pocket and hands it to him. ‘Sound’ he says ‘ have a good day’.
She walks around the third corner to see the bad old boy of the nursing home stood there grinning with his trousers around his ankles. ‘Oh Christ’ cries Mavis ‘not the bloody breathalyser again!’

Agreed. I enjoy watching both. Swans number one every time but I want to see the Ospreys do well.

Why not just respond and leave the personal abuse alone? Your argument should be enough for others to decide if it's pitiful drivel or not. You would be the first to moan if others said that about you. The biggest hypocrites complain about people being hypocritical.

Where do we start? I'm not a fan of Drakeford but do you genuinely believe that he is responsible for this? Another example of the UK privatising the profits and socialising the losses or costs. I understand you will go to any length to defend the Tories and neoliberalism in general but come on.

Autumn statement on Thursday
at 20:51 18 Nov 2022

The covid bill wasn't just about furlough though was it? £32 billion on a failed test and trace system as well as god knows how much spent on corrupt PPE contracts. Even before Covid the national debt was horrific and getting worse.

Also, this budget is not just about the Covid bill or even the 'global pressures' that every Govt minister keeps trying to bang on about. Nobody was talking big tax rises or huge spending cuts 2 months ago. This budget is attempting to repair the damage done by the disastrous previous budget which crashed the economy. Every economic measure shows the UK at the bottom of the list with ordinary people paying the price for a failed ideology.

There are many comprehensive schools in areas of horrible deprivation in the UK who do an amazing job given the social conditions in which they have to work. I'd also be interested to hear your thoughts on how exactly the state education system drives the ambition out of children.

How many times does it need to fail for them to realise it doesn't work?
Also, having Piroe in the box makes a difference. He almost always gets a shot off to trouble the keeper.

Agree totally, it's painful isn't it. Mick Lynch's salary is £84,000 whilst Eddie Dempsey's is £78,000 which are both quite reasonable considering the responsibility they carry. These have been decided democratically by the union members. Also they can be voted out at any time where they will return to their more modestly paid jobs hence the ludricousness of the argument of Eddie Dempsey living in a council flat.

I know we live in a society which thrives on division but I'll never cease to be amazed at how working people can be so anti other working class folk who are just after a decent standard of living whilst giving those at the top a free ride.

Starmer fined ?
at 20:42 8 Jul 2022

Two weeks of DM front pages about beergate landed with many. There are still people who are convinced that there is equivalence between Starmer's curry on the campaign trail, and Johnson's many parties to try to paint Starmer and Johnson as 'all the same'. It is unbelievable that so many fell for it.

Starmer and Rayner serial liars 😂😂😂
at 15:30 2 May 2022

I said it was previously investigated with no case to answer, which it was. Let's see what these new revelations bring to see if any crimes were committed. I don't think the two scenarios are in any way comparable despite what the DM says.

I don't disagree that there are good and bad politicians on all sides of the spectrum but for all Starmer's faults he is not in the same league as Boris in terms of lying, hypocrisy, corruption and incompetence. It's not even an anti Tory thing. There are a few previous Tory PMs or current MPs I would be quite happy to see in post instead of the current charlatan.

My point being that the DM are desperately trying to smear the opposition with anything because they know Boris is in trouble and fear the upcoming elections. I don't know whether you read it or not. Let's wait and see what happens to see if any crime was committed. When I said people like you I meant a centrist with no political leanings either way. That was in brackets so I thought it was obvious.
