It wasn't a Saints game, it was just one of those Emirates Cup pre-season things that Arsenal used to play against 2 foreign teams.

Dirk-the-Forgetful went to it after Chambers went to them from us.

lol. Glad someone else remembers your highlights on this board! You actually did Dirk. Your memory must be slipping in old age. You went to a pre-season game at the Emirates and came back here and anointed Chambers as the next Bobby Moore. It's one of your trademarks, you get obsessed with certain players/managers and then try to push the belief that they are far better than they are. You also declared Lallana as 'world class' and, perhaps worst of all, repeatedly stated Forster was a decent keeper.

Bought him when in the PL, he was useless
Loaned him out when we were back in the Championship
Played him when we returned to the PL. He was useless
Sold him when we were relegated back to the Championship.

This must be the most pointless article ever on TUI. THB wanted to leave and the club needed to sell him for financial reasons. As soon as this was the case there was zero% chance he would be played as neither side could risk him being injured. If he tore his ACL it would have cost the club £30m so utterly mindless to say we should have played him.

It's 2026 not 1986.

If our owner wasn't spineless he would have sacked Parsons/Spors and Tonda who were all responsible for the shambles which has cost him 200m.

Drawing a line under the whole sorry tale would have been the best thing for the club. As it is the saga is just dragging on and on.

I don't think Eckhart has the experience to deal with the fallout from last season and having a vastly inferior squad this year.

An experienced manager and new DOF would have made it easier to navigate what was always going to be a very difficult season.

Pedro "Pele" Montiero - truly awful. One of Whiskey George's drunken signings. Ended up in non-league. Calling himself Pele made it more hilarious.

Alan "Gordon" Bennett - On his debut he looked genuinely surprised that a football bounced (as it went over his head and the opposition scored.)
