Taxes in this country aren't high, its living costs that are high, the cost of houses, energy costs, council tax, entertainment costs etc.
Compare our taxes with other European countries and our taxes aren't high, plus our income taxes used to be a lot higher for rich people in the past. |

I remember the reports coming out sometime afterwards that Lillee and Marsh had won a fortune betting on their own team to lose during the match itself, when the odds reached 500-1 they lumped on and Australia unbelievably lost when it seemed certain they would win. |

Absolutely i agree, why now and not then ?, you shouldn't have civilians on a civil rights march murdered in the UK, most shot in the back with no official comeback, it was a disgrace .
There was a comeback of sorts in the sense that it was the greatest recruiting tool the IRA ever had by a country mile, people were so incensed by the injustice that lots took up arms and that as a consequence probably resulted in the death of squaddies down the line.
The Brits should have acted at the time, if it was bad intelligence sort it out, if it was bad or malicious orders action should have been taken and if it was rogue soldiers action should have been taken.
I'm sympathetic to lowly squaddies without listening to the mp was the one soldier alone responsible for 5 deaths that day and then according to the mp killed another innocent civilian at another incident from the other side, perhaps that death could have been prevented if appropriate action had been taken at the time. |

That guy is not British he is a foreigner, an economic migrant, a non dom, he doesn't pay UK taxes on his overseas busineses, how many steel works does he have in the UK ?, his business were competitors to the British Steel industry, which he has as a competitor basically helped to see off. |

What a win by Australia, the English have lost a test match inside 2 days, Australia had front line bowlers missing, England yet again won the toss but Australia somehow beat them inside 2 days.
I am on the case around English media hype surrounding English national teams in sports and that most of the time English national teams are not as good as they are msde out to be but I didn't see this absolute hammering for England, lose ok - Australiawere slight favourites but it was a hammering in the end, its only the first test so England can and might still win the series but what a beating. |

Property prices need to come down, energy prices need to come down and we need a wealth tax, how the first two can be achieved when Thatcher sold off the housing stock and our nationalised industries is problematic. |

The English and their mercenaries suffered a huge defeat when they had the Welsh stuck on Ynys Mon, their carpenters built a wooden bridge but the Welsh were communicating with the mainland via lanterns and knew they were coming they let them finished building the bridge as they had a plan, when the English attacked the Welsh allowed a few hundred across to the island and then set the bridge on fire the top English fighters at the time were the knights and their horses and they all drown while the soldiers the Welsh allowed across the bridge were then slaughtered.
