Another 3 million invested
at 12:21 21 Apr 2024

Probably would though, the owner of Preston said it costs roughy £24 million to run a mid table championship side, revenue brings in £12m, so each year he and his family have to find £12m.
Swans are a similar sized club give or take so unless we get a Flynn Downes or Joel to sell every season we are swimming against the tide.

This is what happens if you play lose with the finances, I heard that Villa threw everything at getting back in the Prem, if that gamble had failed then they would have gone through serious trouble, same with Forrest, Sheffield Utd and Bournemouth, someones going to come a cropper and it looks like Reading

Everton points reduction
at 16:53 28 Feb 2024

No, Everton broke the rules and got points deducted, if it is proven that they broke the rules again then more points will be deducted, them are the rules and you cannot have sympathy for those that break those rules

Man City and Chelsea, the same rules apply

Now in City's case people are going on about the 115 charges, to me its like a serial killer, if you murder one person, the evidence is brought before a court pretty quick, if you murder 115 people, it takes longer to gather the evidence

Dwindling support
at 08:18 1 Feb 2024

Council offered us a 25k stadium then downgraded it to 20k, had we had 25k we may still be in the Premier League as we would have had 25,00 every game (radical, yes but possible)

5k extra gate at say £20 a ticket = £100,000 per game extra revenue = enough to pay 3/4 quality players per week, that would have, IMO, kept us in the division.

On to the present, we do need a lift regarding players and results although we would have had close to 25k for one or two games already this season plus Leeds and Cardiff to come.

Its a minimum of 10%, hence we give 2,100, we could give more but would cause problems with segregation, for the bigger games (Leeds/Cardiff) we get a bigger home support

15% for Cup, 10% for League, so Cardiff have a 33,000 capacity, hence Leeds are allowed 3,286, why aren't we?

Leeds take 3,286 to Cardiff, we are only allowed to take 2,000, why?

we exist to fund DC UNITED

Not that old chestnut (again), Swiss Ramble says he can't see it, most championship clubs are losing £12m, we are no exception.

The whole division is fucccked, spending more and more hoping to reach the promised land.

A club, similar in size to us, Preston owner Craig Hemmings says

"The way that central media monies are paid creates massive challenges for those of us in the Championship trying to compete. It costs about £24 million pounds each year to keep us going. Towards this we receive approximately £2.3m from season tickets and a further £7.3m in total from the EFL and Premier League. After other income streams, that leaves my family with an annual shortfall of around £12m which we have to put into the club each season."

Nightmare scenario nearing reality
at 08:14 28 Dec 2023

Last 5 results, won 2, drawn 1, lost 2, that's not great but hardly relegation form

My worry is, we've beefed up our recruitment, significantly, brought in 13 during the summer window plus Yanick Bolasi, not one of them is setting the world alight, so if the January window is similar then our recruitment needs looking at again. I don't want 13 signings, 2 or 3 key signings will do.

So our last 5 results are, 2 wins, 2 loses and a draw, that's not great but will not see us relegated

Both Kieran Maguire and the Swiss Ramble chap say no money is leaving the club illegally.

Are they greedy or just plain thick ?

The players didn't pay for Sunderland, the hierarchy did but were (and still are) in a bad place with many fans no matter what they do/did, they wanted to do something to reward the fans but if the owners had put their name to it, then many would have refused the offer. They wanted as many fans there as possible.
