Stamenic is too static ,slow and plays too many sideways and back balls , if he changes then yes but if he continues to play the way he has been,then he’s not even an automatic choice so how could he be captain |

That’s what I meant by ‘if we can’ ,let’s hope the new coaching team ,if and when they arrive can improve our position,either way we need to change things and possibly move a few on ,it’s just getting back to basics we need with new coaches in place , it’s painful to watch opponents just doing simple things against us and winning and we don’t seem to be doing anything about it |

Benson has been a let down ,Yalcouye can still play a part but we need 2 fullbacks ,a playmaker and a right winger,whether we can do it is another thing |

Fullbacks mark wide men not giving them space and time on the ball and tackling to get the ball , our wingers track their advancing fullbacks and cover ours, our midfielders mark their opposite numbers putting them under pressure and tackling to win the ball back ,centre backs cover Centre forward and fight for the ball in the air and clear it from the danger area
When we have the ball, our midfielders move around looking for the ball instead of being like statues and dragging defending midfielders creating space for a forward pass o run upfield ,our defence push up together and crucially when our wingers get the ball they actually try to beat a man and cross into the box creating chances to score
If we lose the ball ,get back into defensive positions and reset
Oh and I know I keep on about this…..
Stop faffing around at the back and play the ball forward quicker
Something like that would be better than what we’ve seen recently |

We need a couple of fullbacks that can mark and tackle , a dog in the middle to win the ball and a playmaker who knows what to do with it |

I have to add for a tall bloke,Vigaroux is absolutely awful in the air ,rarely comes for a high ball not even to punch and seems glued to his line |

I said it on the other thread , our players are marked tightly ,we leave wide players in acres of space , how hard is it to tell Tymon and Key to mark tighter , they also don’t tackle or even try to get a foot in,Tymon backs off constantly until he’s in the box or the player gets a cross in which is pretty much every time someone runs at him, Key is just all over the place,his positioning and body angles are terrible and he’s by passed so easily
We’ve got a real problem defending anything in the air,crosses,free kicks,corners and throw ins and also winning the second ball,other teams just look quicker and sharper than us
Second half today Mason made 4 subs and it changed the game completely,every time WBA broke they had players in space all over the pitch,it was as if they had more players on the pitch,when we had the ball all our players were marked and closed down quickly ,our subs changed nothing , is this down to tactical naivety by the manager or the players just not seeing what’s going on and reacting
Hopefully Matos’ coaching team can sort it out,we’re in for a crap second half of the season if they can’t |

We not only don’t tackle our players look afraid to tacky, if they are close enough to opponents that is because we can’t mark either!!
How difficult is it for our player to stand close to the opponent when they do it to us ,it’s like Tymon and Key are observing Covid safety spacing rules !!
There’s no steel or desire to win the ball , it’s like we’re under 8’s playing men
I don’t know how good Matos’s coaching staff are IF they come in but they’re going to need to be world beaters , let’s hope they know what marking is
And we still fart around at the back , |

We are going down playing like this
Every Swans player is marked when we have the ball , nobody within 10 yards of their players when they have the ball , it’s like they have more players than us , why can’t our players mark like the opponents do
The space we allow wingers and fullbacks out wide on both sides is killing us 34 crosses into our box ,14 shots inside our box we wouldn’t survive in league 2 allowing that
West Brim won nearly every ball in the air and every 2nd ball , they tackled and showed more desire to win the ball and the game,we just didn’t lay a glove on them 2nd half while they queued up for shots on our goal 26 by the way 10 on target
Their manager makes 4 changes half time and they ripped us apart ,our changes did nothing ,it was like we took players off and didn’t put any on !!!
We’ve dropped like a stone and it looks like we can’t get out of it
These are desperate times |

Tymon can’t defend ,his awareness and positioning is awful ,he just allows players too much space and time to get the ball and run at him , he can’t tackle and just backs off until he’s in our goal area ,the number of crosses coming in from his side is testament to this but he is good going forward and crossing and does contribute to the attack,he’s a wingback and not a fullback,unfortunately for him we play 4 ar the back which shows his defensive weaknesses up
Key has the same problem,not a fullback but his awareness and positioning is a lot worse than Tymons and is a clear target for opposing teams although Ronald in front of him could help him a bit more
The number of crosses we concede both sides is a big problem but hopefully one that Matos can rectify |

We just need to keep it simple ,defend the flanks better and mark the wide men tighter,don’t overplay at the back ,players in the middle moving and looking for space to receive the ball and turning upfield when they get it ,moving the ball forward quicker ,through the middle and out wide
