We have read reports today that it’s still ‘if or maybe’ on Leo Walta signing for Swansea City. Yes he is on loan from IK Sirius but he is contracted to Swansea. The details are as follows.

The profit and sustainability ‘rules’ enabled the Swans to negotiate a two and a half million pounds transfer with IK Sirius during the last window. Admittedly the Indy fell short on the contract details back then but now here is confirmation with figures. We are told that Walta will become a Swansea City player permanently at some point during the first three weeks of the transfer window. This enables the Swans to pass over expenditure into the coming years profit and sustainability. A clever move to secure a talent like Walta who has made it known for over nine months this is the club for him.

The contract conditions are set in stone with IK Sirius in agreement with all of Walta’s pay and conditions signed and formalised. Of course the Swans hold his registration. Neither club can back out. The reports today stating his loan isn’t yet confirmed as a permanent transfer are totally incorrect. He will be a part of the Swans first team squad for 2026/27.

The next issue for these outlets is the reporting of Peterborough United midfielder, Archie Collins. The problem here for these outlets is that Collins is going to be nearly twenty seven once the season gets underway (birthday on Aug 31st) The first question is will he be in the age range for a Swansea player ? As it stands he isn’t. And the Swans have no plans to reach into League One for a player at this level, they are aware of him, any club that isn’t won’t be doing their job properly. At his age and of course the fact that Posh Chairman, Darragh MacAnthony has let him run his contract down so he can leave for no fee is also a big red flag. This is a football person who knows the very inside and out of how these matters run. It’s our view with no Sporting Director in place and the loss of recruitment specialist, Adam Worth the club have no official channels to open any communications, well at least one that is experienced. The Swans do have an impressive cadre of scouts assembled by Worth but their brief isn’t to negotiate anything.

Current Peterborough United head coach, Luke Williams described Collins as “The phrase is plug in and play. Every day in training he’ll be great, every meeting he will be attentive and understanding, every game he well play well or very well. This is really a luxury. You’re pretending you’re a good coach when you work with Archie because it’s too easy”

A contract offer for him to stay at the Posh was refused.

We understand that Collins is in dialogue with Lincoln City, the source who brought us the exclusive on Ethan Erahon last summer (not joining the club) is adamant at this moment in time that this could be the club that gets him.
