Swansea City : Elijah is ‘Just the fillip’ the Swans needed plus Vipotnik latest

Readers of our forum will note that we have been keeping tabs on Elijah Just the Motherwell winger who can also play in midfield and across the front three. This doesn’t take away from other outlets reporting the news but there’s a nice storyline behind this player.

Now twenty six the coup regards this Scottish Premiership player is that a number of clubs have been chasing him - including Celtic who seemed rather content they may have got their man over the last few days. A target of Jay Lefevre who is the Swans head of recruitment and scouting he seems to have ensured new Sporting Director, Ben Stevens had an extra edge in negotiations which part concluded on Saturday. It’s unconfirmed if fellow New Zealand player and Swans midfielder, Marko Stamenić also had a word, but what do you think ? As stated on our forum we have been collecting information on this deal as best as you can these days with Swansea City keeping a tight hold on what gets out of the club. And indeed some of our trusted agent sources who worked so well last window and summer are shrugging their shoulders. In fact there are certain board members at the Swans who are not privy to certain goings on, and when you think about it, why should they ?

Personally that’s really good to hear.

Elijah Just - turned down several advances before verbally agreeing to join the Swans this weekend. It’s early days but the transfer fee we are told is around four and a half million pounds with add ons, some of which if achieved would mean the Swans get promoted ! The payments will stretch over his contract length as we explained with Ethan Galbraith and has since been verified.

The Swans are getting a player in his prime who scored three goals in this years World Cup for his country New Zealand. His scouting reports display a player very much in the vein that the Swans fans will love, and it is great news with the recent injury to Gonçalo Franco. A huge boost.

* Ability to beat defenders one-on-one.
* Composure in front of goal.
* Versatility across attacking midfield and both wings.

If there is a negative it will be his overall pace but he does have a lightening quick start. The only thing we have is that there is a plan for a medical before Wednesday afternoon and the usual clearances required for this to become reality. A part agreement with Elijah’s agent, Gustaf Grauers will be the next stage with the Swans already aware of the players salary and conditions. Speaking on his player he stated, "The World Cup certainly generated further interest and we've had additional enquiries from clubs in a number of countries. That's natural after the tournament he had. At this stage, though, our focus is on carefully assessing the opportunities rather than rushing into any decision” That door was kicked down over forty eight hours this weekend with Ben Stevens holding talks. Zān Vipotnik was missing from the two sides selected by Vitor Matos against Holstein Kiel, the general feeling seemed to be he would be ready for Tuesday evenings game against VfL Bochum 1848. (that’s not the kick off time) Rumours are now circulating that he won’t play at all during this training camp. Several Swans fans have contacted us with differing stories when asked about his non involvement on Saturday. One reason given was it’s a slight knock but he’s okay, another that he feels he might not play this week at all, and another it’s ‘not down to me’ It all has a negative feeling about it, but of course many expected him to leave Swansea this summer and despite his general responses about loving the area and his family are settled a huge bid would see him go. With Ethan Galbraith already gone and the potential from the off that Vipotnik could leave it seems if it comes to fruition Ben Stevens will have a a fair bit of work to do.

We will keep tabs on as much as we can, the team are always keeping an eye out for what at times seems insignificant news that can lead to a whole lot more.
