The Swans have spent last night in good proximity to Lincoln ready for today’s 3pm fixture at Sincil Bank. We’ve covered much on this game and you can read our reports below. But now let’s hear from other sources including Lincoln City on today’s game.

First off though the Swans have sold out their two thousand ticket allocation, in fact that was last week. Many were in the town last night in Lincoln so a safe journey home to all of you after today’s game

The managerial duo of Chris Cohen and Tom Shaw have most certainly steadied the ship whilst moving into the Championship, and they are now looking good in the top ten. Some will recall Chris Cohen from his lengthy spell at Nottingham Forest, a keen competitor in midfield he played in that infamous Play Off semi final back in 2011 at the Liberty Stadium. A lot gets forgotten as time passes but Robbie Earnshaw who gained fifty nine international caps for Wales scored the only Forest goal that night in Swansea. That ended 3-1 as the Swans advanced to the final at Wembley where they gained promotion to the Premier League.

Cohen is in joint charge of the Imps with Tom Shaw, he was also at Nottingham Forest as a youngster and thereafter enjoyed what many would describe a journeyman career in the lower echelons of the football league and non league. Shaw has had a five year relationship with Lincoln City to date. The current incumbents are both thirty nine. They have insisted on a full on approach to their Championship journey to date. They work very hard to keep their opponents scores down to zero. And they do that very well indeed. Despite only taking over in May 2026 from Michael Skubala (leaving for Bristol City) and preparing the Imps for a hard season in the Championship they have to date proven their worth. They have kept four clean sheets this campaign with the new management pairing now having their eyes on the Swans later today.

Pre match Cohen stated, “Obviously, the points tally’s brilliant. And definitely, in these last five games, we feel like we’ve really found our rhythm in terms of our out-of-possession work, our solidarity. And from that, we can grow everything else. So yeah, probably ready for a break, although when you’re winning games, you also like a little bit of rhythm. So not the best point, but not too bad. The most important thing, I think from the very first day that me and Tom walked in, was to try and help the players believe in how good they are. A lot of players that have come up from League One, I think ten of the starters from the other night (away win at Bristol City) were players from our League One team last year, and we just know. We just have so much faith in them.

He went on. “They’re a top team (Swansea) and hve hit a real run of form over the past few months and started the season incredibly well. They are a really difficult team to play against. But we know the way that we play and have shown in the past few games that when we hit our flow we’re pretty hard to stop. There’s always going to be a question when you’re moving up to a new level, especially a level that quite a few of them haven’t played at, but we've always had real belief in them. Results naturally give them that belief, and the performances have been an absolute bonus as well."

Swans head coach. Matos describes today’s opponents as a side that is competitive with a strong structure. “They make the game really competitive. They are quite a direct team with a really strong structure to catch a lot of second balls and use that straight on. We know it’s one of the best defences in the league and they are in a positive moment, so we expect a good game, a game that we also want to compete in and show that we want, in our way, to go to every place and do a proper game.”

Overall, the sides have faced each other 56 times dating back to 1932, with Lincoln slightly edging it with 23 victories to Swansea’s 21. The main link between both clubs is Paul Farman. Farman spent six years at Lincoln City, helping them reach an FA Cup quarter-final, promotion to League Two and winning the EFL Trophy in 2018. The veteran goalkeeper has since had spells at Stevenage and Barrow, before joining Swansea in 2025. Season trends point to contrasting styles. Lincoln City average 36% possession with 70.27% pass accuracy and have four clean sheets from seven. Three of their six goals have been headers, suggesting they could look to crosses and set piece pressure. Swansea City average 58% possession and 82.74% pass accuracy, with 11 goals from 60 shots and four clean sheets. Adam Idah leads their league scoring with three, while the absent Eom Ji-sung (above) has supplied two assists.
