News Stories for Andrew Fisher

As if by magic : The Swans throw it away again Sat 03rd Feb 2024
It wasn’t a bad game, but the Swans should have wrapped this up in the first half. The positive was Ronald, the negatives is sadly Jerry Yates who again missed an absolute sitter in the first half. He wasn’t totally to blame as the same happened in the second half for substitute Charlie a Patino. The other concern has to be the low turn out from the home fans. With lots of empty seats if there were 14,500 there I would be surprised.
Swansea City v Northampton Town : League Cup Team News Tue 08th Aug 2023
The Swans take on the Cobblers tonight in a first round tie at the Swansea.Com Stadium ( kick off 7.30pm ) The last time the teams met was four years ago at the same stage of the competition. Swansea won 3-1.
Swans loan targets in the USA until next weekend at the earliest Sun 23rd Jul 2023
It’s already been confirmed by Michael Duff that he see’s numerous deficiencies in his Swansea City starting eleven, and that was elevated even more after the defeat to Oxford United.
Everything Russell Martin said after losing to Millwall Wed 15th Mar 2023
Swansea City head coach Russell Martin stressed how well his team played against a side with one of the best home records in the championship yesterday evening. Looking tired but confident that his future at Swansea City is safe and Director Steve Kaplan reaffirmed that in a lengthy meeting in south London yesterday afternoon.
I’ve really seen enough of Russell Martin’s Swansea City vision for the future Sun 12th Mar 2023
This is my first piece for Swansea Independent and I’ve thought about it a lot over the past few days. To really give my thoughts some context I waited until yesterdays game was over against Middlesbrough. It does sort of prove my point to an extent.
Swansea City fully exposed both on and off the pitch Sun 05th Feb 2023
As the ninety plus minutes unfolded yesterday at the swansea.com stadium we saw every facet laid bare in front of the watching crowd as Swansea City collapsed dramatically. Psychologically this really was a huge blow to Swansea head coach Russell Martin after the stress of a football week involving every layer of the west Wales club.
Swansea City ready to put the disappointment of the week to one side Sat 04th Feb 2023
Swansea City return to business on the pitch today with the visit of Birmingham City to the Swansea.com stadium ( kick off 3pm ) With Morgan Whittaker in the squad and Andrew Fisher now the clubs number one for the rest of the season the Swans go in to this game full of hope.
Swansea City now ready to talk transfers *Latest* Sun 13th Nov 2022
Attention has already turned to Swansea City’s transfer business as Russell Martin, Josh Marsh and Julian Winter are already focussing in on business to be concluded in January. Surprisingly as we understand it a striker isn’t on the cards ( at this time ) especially when the swans are struggling to score goals and put games away.
The youngest team because that’s what Russell Martin wants ? Mon 10th Oct 2022
Further proof if it was needed that the flexibility of youth can reap rewards came when the starting Swansea City eleven was the youngest in the championship this weekend. Russell Martin has slowly assembled a team resembling something along the lines of a side that can understand and implement his long term strategy for the swans.
Three games in to Steven Benda’s reincarnation and it’s all paying off at Swansea Sun 18th Sep 2022
Since Steven Benda has been reintroduced in to the Swansea City match day eleven we have most certainly seen an upturn in fortune and form. Russell Martin tried to sell him on to Peterborough United in the early part of the summer, thankfully that failed, and from there on in things have most certainly taken an upturn.
