Regardless of the result today at relegation doomed Rotherham (who have not won in 14, always a good time to play QPR), I think I'm watching Holloway on the very edge.
I watched perhaps half a dozen of Holloway interviews over the last month or so. What I see and hear is an endless rambling about 'passion', 'dying for the club' and 'transforming the culture'.
The England FA rant about 'who are ya, I mean who are you, who are you, who are you, who are you, who are you, who are you, who are you, who are you, who are you, who are you, who are you, who are you, - I mean c'mon on. What on earth was all that about?
Nothing personal against Holloway. He did great last time for us, and remains popular. I just find him far far too desperate, almost incoherent in his enthusiasm.
I reckon we'll lose or perhaps draw today at Rotherham. Then what? His appointment almost smacks of 'we've tried everything else, and that hasn't worked, let's go back to an old friend who knows the club and try him...'.
Just feel increasingly uneasy that this latest experiment may end in tears.

It hasn't gone well at all bar the Norwich game but we never get a manager bounce or haven't for the last 3/4 appointments maybe we should be thinking why that is ?
Not only are we not getting a manager bounce, under JFH we were averaging 1.25 points per game, which would have us finishing the season on about 58 points. And now we're averaging 0.75 points, which if it continues will leave us on 42 points.

Since moving out of London to West Sussex I can't get to Loftus Rd quite so much. My point is this;
Watching those initial interviews left me with the distinct impression that I was watching a bloke who had a) been out too long and b) wasn't crystal clear about what he felt needed to be done and c) has a real problem with answering questions succinctly (ie: the FA rant...)
Yes, it's only four games. Give him some more time. Agreed. But honestly, if we are near the relegation spots come end of January early Feb we might need to think again.
I'm sure Holloway is a good genuine bloke. Means well. Works hard. All fine. No problem. But...ultimately it's about results. At best I feel he is a temporary replacement. There are a lot of guys like him. Loads of enthusiasm that ultimately gets found out because when the push is really on, they don't have that X factor. They're actually not really that good. We desperately need a manager who is.
This job has proved to be a tough one for so many. Some arrive with glittering CVs and fail to deliver. Think Hughes, Redknapp, De Sousa to name just a few.

Since moving out of London to West Sussex I can't get to Loftus Rd quite so much. My point is this;

We've had every type of manager at QPR in recent years, they've all failed and if we went for a different type now he'd probably fail as well so I'm not sure why we can't back a fella who clearly cares

That is entirely independent of the fact that Holloway is a beloved son of the club (to me, that history is largely irrelevant).
Without clear grounds for dismissal (alienation of the squad, issuing ultimatum-type demands, etc,) he has got to be given a reasonable chance of success. And to me, a reasonable chance means going well past the time when a new manager (whoever that might be????) could change things around this season.
We have to ride this train all the way to the end.
