Dean Smith - Brentford 14:14 - Aug 6 with 4812 viewskingsburyR

From twitter

"Just read Brentford manager Dean Smith isn’t going to appoint a captain this season, instead he is having a leadership group, I actually think this could be a really good idea, there’s a real lack of leaders in football these days and this might be a great way to develop some."

I like the cut of this mans jib!!! Where did Brentford dig him up from after Warburtons departure??? Can we shop in the same store?

Dont know why we bother. .... but we do!

Brentford run the gauntlet of having too many chiefs and not enough Indians on the pitch.

Whereas at QPR, total opposite! We have loads of Indians and since Ned left, not a chief in sight.

This is up there with Trotters Ethnic Tours.

That was a good idea, but Grandad throw the flyers away.

ON the Captains thing in a way Warnock as already said did it with Adel, he did however have a whole host of captains with pure leadership ability.

So I don't slag ot off, afterall in other countries often the best player gets the gig, they dont fuss over it like we do here.

Its more important in Rugby and cricket (especially cricket) but in many ways I feel less so in football in the sense that they cannot influence quite in the same way.

In football you could easily captain a side without the armband, and Derry in 2010/2011 is a prime example of that.
