A wage cap would sort all this out yet last time I looked you opposed it.

Got to stop letting your politics get in the way of common sense.

Nice attempt to turn a potentially useful thread into a row 👍

Never opposed a wage cap, check again:

My apologies if I misunderstood you Baz.

I thought when you said ‘I don’t think salary caps are necessary’ you meant ‘I don’t think salary caps are necessary’.

Regards FFP it’s not actually needed at all if you have Divisional salary caps. If that had been in place previously then the Bury, Macclesfield and Southend fiascos simply wouldn’t be happening.

Conveniently left off the other half of what I said.

So what should Macclesfield’s salary cap have been, and what difference would it have made to the owners piling external debt into the club? That can be done to club if there is a salary cap or not.

How would a salary cap have stopped Derby selling the ground to themselves or Man City sponsoring themselves with £X billion?

Remember you banging on about the virtues of the free market not so long ago. Where has that SteveC gone?

Jesus, Steve. Point made, I would say.

Bazza,

Thanks for the info. I'll read later.

As for the job you linked to, it's a great idea but only if the ultimate responsibility lies with the top brass and not solely with someone on £40k p/a who would surely be open to all sorts of advances from some of the scum who get involved with football and who would surely only be a box-ticking exercise if s/he doesn't report upwards.

Yeah it’s a total nonsense administrator job. Like the Tweeter says, it looks like a horse has bolted situation.

Well, I don't mind that so much. But the position has to have power.
