of all the celebs to get involved i'd opt for Reynolds over most.

He always seems like a pretty sound guy, has made a side fortune out of his gin business that he recently sold to a large alcohol company. Bizarre that they ended up at Wrexham, but possibly more creditable owners than we've had for a long time

'Global force' does pish on the chips slightly though!!

The Wrexham Supporters Trust look to have put some really sensible covenants in place, and this isn't some shi thouse property developer taking over, so I reckon they'll be okay. I expect they're just looking for something fun/interesting to do with their money. A grand old club, and fair play to all the locals who don't support Liverpool/Everton/Many Utd, so I wish them all the best. Seems mad that they've been out the league this long.

People laughed when Al Fayed said Fulham would be the Man Utd of the South, but 23 years later, we're only 3 places below them in the league, and we've won the Intertoto. Dreams can come true (Look at me babe, I'm with you)

Good luck to Wrexham, I'm actually interested in seeing how they move forward from here. I like McElhinney and Reynolds and believe them to be sincere.
Imagine Wrexham players on FightMilk. Genius

I could do with some Fight Milk to help me lose a bit of weight after lockdown!

According to wiki;

"Initially, Sheffield FC games were played among club members themselves and took the format of "Married v Singles" or "Professionals v the Rest"."

Fulham have certainly gone forward but then again Manure have been going backwards 😇

Strong and stable my arse.

As a local Wrexham lad this is massive news not just for the club but the local community as a whole, the club, much like all other non league teams at the moment were on the brink of going under, and the fact 2 world famous people have taken it upon them to invest 2M and bring some stability to build on is a dream come true to the supporters trust and all the fans who've not had anything to be positive about since being relegated from the football league over a decade ago.

Congratulations.

Konk alluded to it, but is there a confirmed role for supporters under these two?

I think 98% of those in the supporters trust who voted for the new ownership are happy that its happened given the large sway of votes, and happy to give up there ownership rights, it was only 20-25 people in the trust who voted against it which is baffling really, who wouldn't want investment and stability in their club especially under the current climate the world finds itself in? onwards and upwards seems the definitive verdict

Yeah, can’t argue with the mandate. I think I probably would have been one of those 25 but then again I am a ideological zealot.

Good luck to them, I hope it works out and we see them back in the football league soon!

Here you go, Bazza:

http://www.wrexham.com/news/fan-owners-set-for-key-vote-to-decide-future-ownersh

The R.R. McReynolds Company, LLC would buy the Wrexham AFC Limited company — so not the WST itself which holds the ground lease via WST Assets Ltd — for one peppercorn, and a £2m investment.

A new lease appears proposed for the ground, “Wrexham Assets Limited and WAFC will enter into a sub-lease of the Racecourse Ground for a period of 25 years at an annual rental of £115,000 per year.”

A range of protective ‘heritage’ covenants have been agreed in the proposal, requiring WST consent if they change. They are listed as:

A change to the home playing colours of all Wrexham AFC football teams;

Changing the playing location of the Wrexham AFC men’s first team to a location
more than 2 miles from the Racecourse Ground;

Moving the location of the Club’s men’s first team ground or training ground to
outside of Wales;

Any changes to the Wrexham AFC badge, save with respect to amends to update
the graphics/quality of the image of the badge. Such consent not to be
unreasonably withheld, delayed or conditioned;

A change of the name of the football club to a name other than Wrexham
Association Football Club or Wrexham Football Club;

Subject to any amends to the rules of any relevant football authority and or any
transfers required with respect to the promotion or relegation of any Wrexham AFC football teams, any proposed transfer of: (1) WAFC’s relevant league share; or (2) other licence requirements for WAFC to compete within the English football pyramid system, to another entity;

Any decision not to hold an annual event to commemorate the Gresford disaster;
and in the event that the Buyer sells a controlling interest in Wrexham AFC to a third party, the Buyer shall ensure that the terms of the sale documentation with the new owner include the covenants detailed in paragraphs 4.1 to 4.7

An ‘Honorary Board’ will be created for use as a fans forum style engagement vehicle.

Cheers Konk.

Mixed feelings about this. Still seems like a lot of meaningful power to give away, but on the other hand probably makes Wrexham more secure than 90% of teams in the football league.
