By the sound of it would need to be in Tier 1 for it to happen so unlikely for us but small step in the right direction

This is going to be an interesting one.

Pre-lockdown 2, both London and Leicester were Tier 2. Leicester could well be Tier 3 by the time it unlocks down with the way our figures are going again 😬 so if QPR were allowed fans, would I be allowed to travel if they went back to the ballot system? If I was not, how could that stand with me and my season ticket?

Obviously at the moment they are all hypothetical questions, and the answers if they were real would be "No idea!" at this stage but given all clubs around the country have supporters scattered its not necessarily straightforward for anyone to administer!

I doubt much will happen before March but they are at least talking about it now and seems a bit clearer as to how it will happen.

But surely you couldn't have some clubs having fans and not others as wouldn't that be an unfair advantage?

Good news. There's carol singing at the Albert Hall between the 18 and 23 December 😕
Presumably everyone going is walking there and back and not using public transport, not all leaving at same time when it's finished, not using the same concourses, stairs etc.
Not that I'm bitter but wtf

It's being so happy that keeps me going.

it would be an advantage but it would be another step in the right direction, I think we'll be waiting a long time if we wait until every area is given the OK

But as I said the area a club is in isn't necessarily the area where everyone who will go to the ground comes from?!

Don't see how they are going to make it work, but then a lot of what happens in football now doesn't make sense.

Saw England players hugging etc after a goal this week, but doing media interviews standing 2m apart?????????

I don't have the answers but surely if you are in a tier 3 area you are not meant to travel so you wouldn't be going to the game. it will be a logistical nightmare to make it work but like all the rules it comes down to people being honest and not being an arsehole

so only clubs from say a tier 1 area would be allowed to play each other in front of tier 1 fans or would an exception be made for the players and for the referees and for the team officials and for those who work at the ground and for the media?

Doesn't make any sense at all to me.

PLans have been leaked to favoured journos ahead of the actual announcement this afternoon - because that's how we operate in this country now - and it's reportedly going to be up to 4,000 in tier one, 2,000 in tier two (which London is) and none in tier three.

Do you think they will do the new tier announcement like the fa cup draw? I would watch that.
Probably be more like the carabao cup though.
Obviously it isn't ideal but any chance to go back to HQ I will take with open arms. Until the oppo get a corner........

Players, ref etc are all in bubbles anyway so makes no different to fans coming back.

Sounds like a maximum of 4,000 but more likely 2,000 at games. Glad I kept my season ticket now but brilliantly the first saturday home game i might be able to go to I've booked tickets to the bloody panto in Windsor

They are announcing the tiers on Thursday, would be wonderful if they did it like a cup draw. Get Rod Stewart in to draw the names

Does anyone know the final figure on the number of supporters who retained their Season Tickets for 2020-21?

Trying to work out my odds of attending first game back.

It will all end in tiers.

Once it's agreed and the logistics are sorted I reckon the club will encourage supporters to buy their seats for the remaining games. I am sure those who kept them regardless will be included in the initial ballots but more ticket sales must be a priority.

I'd love to go back to games. Really I would. But given socially distanced eat out to help out caused a massive spike, I'm not at all sure football would be all that great an idea. Oh well.

So how does that work ? Say London in teir 3 but Watford and Bournemouth in teir 1 , will they have their fans at all home games but us brentford millwaall etc have no fans allowed ? Hardly fair from a football perspective

I'd be interested to know exactly how worth it it's going to be for QPR to staff and steward games if only 2,000 people can go. The League Cup games lose them money I think, and get more than that, and this is going to come with a whole heap of extra hoops to jump through.

Players are being tested but they are not all in the same bubble - when players HAVE tested positive it has been those players who have had to isolate, not the whole squad, the referees change all the time, live all over so can't possibly be in a single bubble and I'm not aware they are being tested regularly in any case - could be I suppose.

But what about all the other people I mentioned and the absolute impossibility of policing what tiers fans are coming from PLUS, I don't see from a fairness point of view how any competition can allow some clubs to have fans and not others halfway through the season?

And that's with only one or two stands open. They'll need them all open to get the distancing sorted.

Poll: Kitchen threads or polls?

Yeah that's exactly how I see it. All based on location and having the joy of attending games, can imagine London being Tier 2 at best. Places like Plymouth and South coast will be Tier 1 (if previous tiers are similar to before)

you can drive yourself mad worrying about it, we have to try and get back to some sort of normal life and having a few thousand into games will be a big step towards that. As with all the rules you can find loopholes and problems but if you are in one of the groups at risk of serious illness or live with people who are at risk you just don't go to these sort of things just as you wouldn't go to the theatre.

I dont think its sensible to be trying to get people into grounds at the moment but given the choice i would take football outside over a panto indoors with people shouting "Oh no it isnt" at the top of their voices! every few minutes, talk about a recipe for disaster, I hope they have gale force air conditioning.

the theatre is well spread out, no one within 2 meters and you have to wear a mask so seems relatively fine to me
