Is there FFP in League Two 15:58 - Oct 17 with 1992 viewskingsburyR

Wrexham pay their big stars £9,000 a week. Salford also in that region.

Is FFP a thing in League two or is it for the top two leagues?

Dont know why we bother. .... but we do!

Yes it is a thing as far as I am aware, it wasn't in the National League which is why they are perhaps a bit more balanced now.

League Two
If the owners cover the tab, it’s all good

League One
If the owners cover the tab, it’s all good

Championship
If the owners cover the tab, that’s not good and for having the temerity to pay the bills you get fined and a points deduction.

Make sense? Me neither.

Not as such. They have a thing called the Salary Cost Management Protocol where clubs can only spend a fixed percentage of its turnover on player wages etc. In L1 it's 60%, in L2 it's 55%.

That is true but how the owner creates that turnover is arbitrary. I think.

It’s very confusing.

Since the takeover, Wrexham's owners have attracted some big name sponsors and I believe the club also get money from the tv show, so that may be part of the reason they can pay big wages for League Two

Basically, the Premiershit isn't concerned by clubs in Leagues 1 & 2 spending what they like because it doesn't threaten them; therefore, FFP operates in those leagues just as it should (i.e. all is fine as long as the owners foot the bill). However, once a club gets to the Championship then the same rules would threaten the cartel at the top so they put a stop to it by way of revised FFP rules (which make no sense at all, other than when you consider them from the point of view of keeping the cartel at the top).

Whole thing is a joke, and makes a mockery of the sport

In Leagues 1 and 2, there is the salary cap management protocol, which means that wages are limited to 60% of turnover in L1 and 55% in L2.

In L1 teams who are relegated from the Championship are allowed for one season to have an extra 15% of turnover, and also certain contracts can be excluded from the SCMP calculation.

Furthermore, there isn't any limit to what an owner can put into a club, as long as its equity and it doesn't count towards turnover.

This.

For the previous 2 seasons they had TikTok as their main shirt sponsor and this year they signed a two year deal with United Airlines for the front of the shirt. They also have Expedia on the back. Apparently HP also are their tech sponsors and supply it all for them.

I suspect their shirt sponsorship is worth slightly more than ours.
