The problem with that logic connell10 is once we fell behind for the fcuking 100th time in first half injury time we had no response .
That second half was totally soul crushing and far far away from the desperation balls to the wall I was expecting .
Stoke are pure sh*t but they schooled us in the dark arts of closing out a game and we looked so toothless its a massive worry going forward .
We pulled a point out last 2 games we fell behind but tonight deserved nothing and that is what we got | | | |

Yes, that was weird in the first half. It definitely helped Stoke as it got their fans against us and therefore behind their own team. The strange thing was that we were generally on the front foot in that first half hour yet timewasting. |  | | |

I can't understand why we looked so demotivated in huge games with Huddersfield and Stoke. Very concerning that we appear to have another manager that can't motivate this shower when it really matters. Similar performances at home to Rotherham, Wednesday and Brum will seal our fate as we really need maximum points in those games. |  | | |

Good post as usual daveB it looked like we did not have a clue how to get through and kept giving the ball away stupidly so they could waste even more time.
That goal on the half time whistle was a sickner for lots of reasons but it allowe Stoke to lock it down and we never got anywhere close . | | | |

That’s the way I saw it too. As other posters have mentioned it also seems we struggle to play well when we have 3 games in a week, or in that mid week game, we lacked energy and intensity.
Stoke got their tactics right but when it’s a tight game to break the deadlock, you need a piece of brilliance, a mistake, a refereeing decision to go for you or you may be able to get out on a set piece. Our corners both for and against make for grim reading. The only other observation is that at one point in the second half we had 8 players on the pitch that weren’t at the club last season and yet we saw a similar performance that has typified us over the last few years. Not sure if we can avoid the drop now, Marti will have to go all out for wins which I can’t see us achieving. [Post edited 16 Feb 9:06]
