New EFL sponsorship money 11:28 - Mar 6 with 1514 viewsenfieldargh

AS I understand it the EFL is getting a larger chunk of money from the premiere league.

Yesterday the EFL sold (the Championship?) TV rights for £150M to be shown on international sports channels, 4 year deal?

So the income fund has just increased yet again?

captains fantastic

I was in a bar in Tokyo on Sunday and right after the JLeague game it was Birmingham v Southampton! Not live, carried by DAZN. Never seen the Championship here before.

Given people are suddenly willing and able to pay for VPNs to access pay-per-view football (RIP Premiership Plus, just a little bit too ahead of your time).......Why are they still even bothering with Sky?

The chopping and changing of dates and K.O. times of games is about to get worse. Great for TV fans, not so great for game fans.

The grass is always greener.

I think the paid streams you get from clubs will be ending this summer and only way you can see games is through sky

I can say with some authority that this was some moody stream, or VPN workaround.
DAZN have the EFL rights for most of Europe and Canada only

Wonder how many streams we'd have to sell to get the equivalent we'll be getting from this sky deal? I find it difficult to believe that Sky can match the QPR/Most Championship fan bases on a game-by-game, pay-per-view basis. Maybe I'm wrong, I dunno, I don't see the numbers.

No club comms, no option to pay your club directly, just put sky on and suffer through whatever change they've decided we're morally obliged to nod along and agree with. Grim.

Then sky will be where the free not strictly legal streams will be sourced. I'm happy to pay QPR £10 for a stream. I am not going to pay anything to a broadcaster after what they have done to football.

I might be wrong but I thought that was part of the Sky deal that the EFL streaming platform is replaced by Sky either on Sky Go or red button

I could be talking nonsense here to be honest
