My first game was in the early 70s, so it was mostly good until the mid 90s. Despite the repetitive cruddy seasons we've had in the last decade, not much doubt for me that the worst football I've witnessed was up to and around the millennium. Loathe as I am to pick out individual players, the likes of Tony Scully, Tim Breacker, Steve Slade, George Kulscar, Ian Dowie, Steve Morrow and Christer Warren still strike terror into me. Incredibly, sandwiched between nearly going down and actually going down we managed to finish 10th in 1999. We were still quite rank after relegation, hitting low points like the 3-1 loss at Colchester (could only get a point against them at home that season, too). |  |
