Unsportsmanlike conduct in my opinion, not how you want to be playing the game. In fact any player seen to be trying to block the goalkeeper from playing it out and obstructing play should be booked in my opinion. Not the example we want to be setting for young kids watching the game.

The goalkeeper is foolish for kicking it at him, but the player shouldn't be trying to be an obstruction, stationary or not. The player isn't running back, or waiting to see if the keeper puts it on the ground to kick it, he's just trying to get in the way. Still no goal in my book. | | | |

When I played in goal the 4 step rule was still valid, a striker would come and stand immediately in front of me making it had to kick the ball within 4 steps as you had to go round him, perfectly legitimate as long as he didn't move.
As to the Bournemouth goal there is absolutely no reason to disallow it and that's speaking as an ex referee with 20 odd years experience. | |

The rule states :-Preventing the goalkeeper from releasing the ball from his hands. A player who attempts to prevent the Goalkeeper from putting the ball into play by standing directly in front of the Goalkeeper can be called for breaking this rule or for "unsporting behavior", in which case both a Yellow Card & an indirect kick would be awarded.
The player was 2 yards outside the box with his back to the keeper, he never moved in any way to block the ball or the keeper.
Ref got this one wrong, goal should have stood. [Post edited 18 Mar 2015 20:56]

Goal imo. He didnt move and the keeper gets more than 3 steps these days so could have gone around him. Plus he was outside the box. Poor decision. |  |
