All week I had a sneaking feeling we'd do Brentford 3-0 and at last, I have got my first correct prediction on the LFW predictor competition at the thirtieth odd time of asking.

Said to the wife as I set off yesterday, we're due a good win, I feel it. Stood opposite the bar in C Block, I said to one of the lads I sit with, must shove a few quid on 3-0.

Sat in a pub afterwards watching the last efforts in the rugby, I left ruing the fact that my old landlord in France offered me a ticket for the rugby there next week, but I turned it down. That and as we neared k.o. at QPR yesterday, I looked at the queue still at the betting kiosk and thought, blow it I might jinx them!

This time next year, QPR will be a minimum 12 points better off. Of the many players leaving and those we'd like to leave, how many will really be a miss? Junior on this late run of form only. Henry, Ale will stay if offered terms should we want them and so if as I/we all agree, a good and proper pre-season and some luck in moving on the dross and bringing in who JFH wants, then 'I feel' by March 2017, we'll be talking play-offs.

Will I put money on it? No excuses if I don't.

Well done QPR because yesterday we not only saw a thoroughly professional display, we also saw a team that is fitter and when Brentford started to get in our faces, we stood up. In this league, these traits will get you a long way. Well done to JFH and his team and the players for getting to this stage from a low-level during the season.

Consistency is the next target and as we can see progress overall, that will come too.

Yet only one week earlier...............still two home wins against two decent footballing sides with five goals scored and none against and both wins fully deserved is a welcome change in fortune, even enough to make me now looking forward to a trip up to Preston next week!
