Anyone remember this?

A week before the FA cup semi-final, Hucker taken off injured, Steve Burke in goal, three players sent off, Steve wicks playing for us, no Gregory, roeder or currie, fights on the touch line......

I must be getting old, I can’t remember any of it!

30 minutes of highlights of 1 match.
Now you're talking.
These days when football coverage is a multi million pound business you get 4 or 5 minutes of highlights followed by 15 minutes of so-called analysis by cliche spouting ex-pros.

The following season we trounced Rotherham at home, I think it was either 4-0 or 5-0.
That was my first ever game at Loftus Road. I was in Ellerslie Road which is where the kids went back then. Simon Stainrod came over before the match and signed my programme!
The crowd gave Emlyn Hughes a lot of stick.

I can remember Emlyn Hughes giving it the big one around that time thinking he was the new Bill Shankly but Rotherham massively overachieved that season in finishing 7th.

Come next season normal order was restored. Rotherham struggled, the squeaky voiced one was sacked in March and Rotherham eventually got relegated whilst we won the league! Hughes never managed another club.

According to Peter Hucker yesterday his injury was caused by Ronnie Moore studding his throat causing a squashed wind pipe, he collapsed due to lack of oxygen, from what I could see he hates him to this day.

Can't blame him, sounds pretty nasty.

Hucker was one of my heroes, I never understood why he got dropped for Barron.

Me neither, that's why I put him as GK in the 'Hard Done By XI' thread a few weeks back.

Was it a big falling out with Smith? Has PH ever spoken about it does anyone know?
