We lack leaders but we also lack a spine to the team, who's our team built around??? No one.
I think we need Lynch at CB, I like the idea of Cousins & Luongo in CM but I wouldn't expect either of them to be leaders so early in their careers and none of our strikers are leaders or even familiar with the division. I really wish JFH hadn't got rid of Clint Hill, but we'd still need a forward and maybe a CM too. |  |

The problem now in the modern game is that the "hard men" or the muck and nettles players are gone every player is the same near enough

I like the idea of Lynch taking it on, he seems to be one of the few players willing to run that extra yard. The others dont even realise they're able to do that.
I was thinking earlier what words of advice Alan McDonald may given Perch after his exploits last week. We seriously lack a man of his magnitude calling the shots on the field. Its a rare thing in football these days. The old fashion British/Irish Skipper with the shirt at heart.

Can't remember the game, but earlier this season I was closer to the pitch than normal and Cousins was talking to teammates and giving shouts more than pretty much anyone, suprisingly.
Onuoha's respected by the players I think, but other than moaning at refs he's not the most vocal on the pitch.

Apart from Lynch they aren't good enough to focus on their own game right now let alone others'. I'd like to see Hall grow into that role. He was one of the very few to come out of yesterday with any credit. | | | |

To make things sustainable the team needs to built around a system rather than a player. The Championship season is long and hard, and players get injured. But thus far, under LF's governance, I still don't see what the system is.
Ned is not a leader and I suspect the pressure of captaincy affects his game. I doubt, even if the money were available, that we could buy someone in January who would immediately galvanise the team; so I guess it has to be someone already here. But who? |  |

From what I have seen at games we could do a lot worse than Chery as Captain, he always goes around to the players before kick off with a few words of encouragement and during any breaks in play he usually heads off to the touchline to see if there are any messages or instructions to be passed on. Sylla too seems to be always geeing up his team mates. |  |

I don't think Sylla is doing himself many favours with the new management in terms of work rate. He's not justifying more than an impact sub role right now IMO.
