Best since Warnock for me. and still no song! Also think having Bould alongside him on match days has made a big difference

All the players buy into his ideas, the standards he talks about a lot is one of the best things that has happened to us. We will win games because of those standards, and only playing players who live up to them. It's made this team very together - as has some great characters in it led by Jimmy Dunne who you can see has a great relationship with him also.

Being the son of a very successful French National Team Assistant manager too. Realistically, am surprised his light shone so far under the radar of most and even many of our own fans, even today have reservations. I think his most important quality is he can really improve some players, almost beyond recognition. Smyth, Adamson and Madsen are standouts in terms of improvement. Am hopeful that Dembele, Saito and Poku could do likewise. Mbengue has done well mostly and Kemper has been exactly what you want from a left back. Hopefully Burrell and Kone can keep fit and do likewise. Then you have someone like Alfie Lloyd who is definitely getting the most out of his abilities also.Another who I personally think he is managing well also is Kolli. Using tough love there and again think its the right call. Dunne and JCS also performing and Ronnie in some games is definitely the Rolls Royce. Appreciate Charles may well have done as well with anyone but Stephan is the one that has said to him, if you think you can pull off that long pass - do it and do it, he has. Was another who was a bit depressed by the negativity after Birmingham. Yes the injuries have been bad, undoubtedly but there were a few very reactionary negative posts about us, once more finishing 15th and 16th. Am expecting a few more, if we lose 4 nil to Southampton next weekend. All though, I can say today is brilliant. Loved it today. Bloke near me mentioned the 4 nil win inspired by Adel in his season and what an individual performance he gave that day. Today was all round briliiance. Just occasionally being a QPR fan can be just damned fun !! [Post edited 24 Oct 21:13]

Probably too early to be thinking like that. Julien impresses me more and more as time moves on. I loved the recent interview with Clive and Conor and I was thinking that Marty would not have given such detailed, interesting replies. Julien gives the impression that he is a deep thinking football man. He stays humble, grounded and would no doubt chuckle to some of the responses on here to victories and defeats. As OakR says Julien sets standards, high standards, which can only be a positive thing for the club especially as the players seem to be buying in to it. He is not perfect of course. I think he has finally realised that Smyth is better than Saito and the Boy Kemper substitution will never be forgotten, lol. I have high hopes for what Julien can achieve at our club. But as my friend Colin recently said, Julien might get frustrated, fed up with player availability and move on. [Post edited 24 Oct 22:03]

| Julien Stephan on 22:29 - Oct 24 with 56 views | LazyFan | He got right today, tactics wise. Last week it was 5 at the back and one up front (Edwards did not play middle but actually was sweeper), with Adamson and Kemper as wingbacks. He got that all wrong and the team was overwhelmed in the middle and had no attack up front. No more mistakes today. Youngsters, let me introduce to the Classic 4-4-2, played throughout the 80's and 90's and of the most classic kind. Big man, little man up front, often played over the top for the little man to run onto, wingers crossing the ball (no cut backs) and when nothing is on the big man holding the ball up and flicking it on when we had to go long. Requires the little man to run around like a maniac, check, requires the big man to hold the ball up and win headers, check. Classic fullbacks running the flanks and central defenders crashing into the ball at corners. Midfielders tackling hard and creating two banks of four out of possession. Simples! Saint Holloway would be proud. | |
