If anyone had said last season that Adel would be tackling back three times and getting a block in no-one would have believed it.
This afternoon though everyone seemed to pull their weight. JM didn't give up against that huge German thug; Zamora had a few nice touches and made a couple of lovely crosses; Derry and Buz were solid; Barton was good and worked hard - could have scored; Hill was as reliable as we have all come to expect; Onuha looked good; Ferdinand was solid; Taiwo was........ unpredictable; Paddy was good. Cissé, SWP and JB did what was asked of them. |  |

We should be grateful the manager has got out of adel what nobody else has done at this level. He lacked support going forward today but never stopped being positive. Barton also worked as hard as I have seen a player work for years. I am having to eat my words, he has been a true leader lately. | | | |
